    Two words: small government.
It's funny, in GCSE history we learnt all about laisse faire government and oh how we laughed at those stupid Victorians who accepted a government that didn't really do anything except collect taxes and maintain an army to wage war overseas and defend the country.
    We all got brainwashed.

Normally I would agree but my contempt for May runs so deep that every time she appears in front of me I start to shake. She is truly awful, and, when she is replaced, which can't come soon enough, she will be rightfully relegated to a tiny footnote in history. Of course the rest of them are just as bad -- castrated by inaction and lack of conviction,  clearly unable to formulate any sort of plot to oust the hag despite her being as unpopular as post-op Lauren Harries prancing about at a church picnic... WTF.
This country gets the politicians it deserves... the entire place has become a run-down, pot-holed shanty-town full of the migrant scourge who never work and hate this country as much as the politicians do. Corporate tax avoidance, NHS death squads, assumed entitlement to bennies, vagabonds & thieves on every street corner if not now then soon - it's grim!
I'm envious of those who, like my parents were lucky enough to see this country before it went to pot. The trains might not have run on time then either but at least you knew what an actual police force was, at least you had politicians of substance, at least you could speak to your neighbours in English! At some point us younger folk will surely have had enough but I can't see anything brewing, I look to the horizon and still see nothing That's even more depressing than Treason May cancelling Brexit IMO.

“Brexit is now about one thing and one thing only: democracy. Is the UK a democratic nation or isn’t it — that is the question. If Brexit is thwarted, our claim to be a democracy will lie in tatters, and the consequences will be terrible.”

This is basically how I view it as well. It's why the politicians will be making a terrible misjudgement if they think they can get away with not having Brexit and just moving on. The country will not be the same again if they carry out such a betrayal.

Perhaps we're destabilising ourselves. Ridden with self-doubt and the over zealous application of outdated laws.
I'm starting to not care. I'm rather enjoying it all from the side-lines.

    Don't start me on that.
Have been to see three dentists in the last three weeks.
Finally got the price down to £2k. (The first one was nearer £4k) but I have shelled out over £300 just to get the fecking quotes.
    Total rip off merchants.

    I'm going!!!
I must admit I wavered a bit 'cos  my missus got a bit concerned over the Antifa stuff. But I tucked my little 3 year old in earlier after reading his usual dinosaur stories and had a bit of a Shakespeare 'St. Crispin's day' speach moment. You know -the bit - '...And gentlemen in England now a-bed shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here and hold their manhoods cheap...'
Not that I blame anyone for opting out, it's just that my journey in is pretty easy so no excuses and I'll be buggered if a bunch of bedwetters should put me off defending democracy.
Also, it's a bit of a myth IMO that London is overtly remain. Half of the city wasn't even born here, so if we leave out the turkeys that don't vote for xmas that leaves a lot larger 'indigenous' populous unhappy with the status quo. They also keep quiet for fear of being outed Donald Sutherland style at the end of the Bodysnatchers. That fear is starting to slowly ebb away.
    I'll be updating too.

It's great that they're using the yellow vest as an emblem of dessent. Up until now it's always been the symbol of officialdom: the steward, traffic warden or the inspector who comes uninvited to observe your work and threaten you should you dismiss his opinions.
The authorities will have to find another tool to impress their importance upon us.

If this spreads to Germany then surely the EU will begin to disintegrate. Not quickly but over many months or years,  it'll sow seeds that can't be unsown. They don't do things by halves once there are mass protests.

    Cuckery. Absolute cuckery.
Anyway, I presume these women won't have a problem with their men going off to hunt 18-20yr old girls in the local bars or taking trips to Amsterdam to have the pick of the hottest working girls?

The EU seems to have been all about the reparation and destruction of Britain
Our intellect has been plundered, take science - Have an idea and want to obtain EU funding*? well then you have to include Greek, Portuguese, Spanish or other scientists in your proposal
Our industry has been plundered - Need to access EU funding* to compete? well then you'll have to relocate to eastern Europe
Our workforce has been undermined - Have cheap labour
Our Benefits system has been exploited - Take migrants
Is it any wonder that UK citizens from disparate backgrounds have woken up and smelled the coffee?

    * the money the EU gives out is our money originally, so we'd be better off keeping it in the first place and dishing it our ourselves.

Havng weighed it up I think the stab vest is the most sensible precaution to take, though partner has been called into work and so I can't get to the shop as we have only one car.
So although I do have the option to go to our out-of-control capital city where the Police are passing the buck to government and vice-versa, doing literally nothing, while people die every day, in order to protest against the betrayal of the people by this shambles of a Parliament - maybe it was ever thus - I think I'm going to pass on it.
The last time I had the option to travel into London was to go with partner to a Hidden London tour as his friend couldn't use the moderately expensive tickets I'd bought as a gift, I weighed it up even though I really wanted to go and partner went on his own by train.
This is much more important, but still, I'm just not going to risk it to try to "save" this country. Have a fun, safe time all.

    Oh well never mind.
I’m of the opinion that civil unrest similar to poll tax and miner’s issue is only a matter of time in the uk (and other places)
Too bad that the rulers have been too busy fretting about themselves, political correctness and appeasing minority groups for votes.
The idiots will maybe have a lightening bulb moment when British cities are burning and the proles from a variety of groups are outnumbering the “authorities”!
