Is that all?   Feels like years ago since we were all posting on TOS.
Happy 2nd birthday DOSBODs..  and as always a tip of the cap to Mr Spunko for making it all possible

HMRC / Childcare service incompetence continues unabated
I have now received a fine of 150 for late submission of a self assessment return that I submitted in October 2018 and was told it was received on the 27th october. I forgot to sign it so I put an appeal on the basis of care responsibilities for my Dad who subsequently committed suicide in December. I put a copy of his certified death cert in as evidence
The Childcare service (which is part of HMRC)  claim there is no evidence of my wifes employment or national insurance number even though she has received letters from HMRC with her NI number on it.
Another recorded delivery letter on its way today. Post Office profits will be up this year.

25 years ago I used to organise a works Xmas party where we got a whole nightclub for a night for free ( might have helped that I did the Public Entertainment Licence ). It was took big for us alone so I  used to invite the local inland revenue office because it was ram packed with cracking burds

    Cheers All
Sent off the next round of recorded deliver letter today to both HMRC and the Childcare Service.
I have experience of the LG Ombudsman so anticipate the procedure is similar.

The UK civil service is designed to work in writing - never phone, never email, always send a formal letter by post.  I’ve sent a few letters to HMRC over the years and my issues have been sorted quickly, often resulting in payments my way.

This will highlight what hypocrites so many journos and other luvvies are - many of them gay themselves - when it comes to sticking up for the rights of gay people if they do not protest against this.
You could make an argument that such a silence will highlight their real fear of islam.
If Christian parents had demanded this we all know the hysteria that would then ensue from them.

You are by no means the only one if you read back through the thread.
The accompanying point however is that because it is muslims that are protesting the media has given them an easy ride, there have been no counter protests by LBGT groups, and they have been given what they want.
If it was white British parents protesting it do you think that any of the three above would have applied?
    No, me neither.

Kurt Barlow got a reaction from The Generation Game in Living in Italy & working for UK clients
I recall, you need to be out of the UK for at least 12 months for HMRC to accept this as foreign earnings.
Assuming DT is resident in Italy a reciprocal tax agreement is in place so for tax purposes he will pay tax to the Italian Govt. What he does with his income after that is his affair.
It gets more complicated if you have kids back in the UK.

I'm just sick of it all. It doesn't matter what colour or creed these people were, at the end of the day 40 odd families are grieving, the same as the families of the victims in Manchester, Paris etc, etc. For all our supposed intelligence, our species collectively, is atrocious.

Not funny, Snaccy, though I see the point you’re trying to make. And the enemy’s doorstep, where is that exactly? A long way from there IMO.

Not.  Killing for whatever reason cannot be condoned.
My focus will be on how it’s reported.  Then compare and contrast with the mass murder events carried out by Islamic terrorists.
One interesting factor will be to see if this particular idiot is labelled as a mentally ill lone wolf.

Kurt Barlow reacted to Errol in Brexit Betrayal thread - Part 2
Any extension or subversion of the process will lead to people voting for The Brexit Party and anyone else apart from the mainstream parties. There are 17 million leave voters at minimum - leave won an overwhelming constituency majority. The country will never be the same again if they go down the road of subverting the result of the referendum.
It's a massive and irreversible step - bearing in mind the mainstream parties will lose those 17 million voters for life. The extent of the betrayal would be such that there would be no going back.

10% on EU cars, that should focus minds in Germany, If May wanted a good deal she should of announced this 12 months ago, which is why I believe getting a bad deal was always the plan.

Teresa  May's catastrophically heavy defeat in the House of Commons this evening would have been one vote lighter were it not for disgraced Labour MP Fiona Onasanya who voted against the PM – while believed to be wearing an electronic tag around her ankle.

So she voted for Teresa’s “peace in our time “ sell out, yet her constituents voted massively to leave

Perhaps this Malthouse compromise might fly now.
I can't see why we don't just offer the EU a rolling 3 month standstill transition period in a kind of gentleman's agreement sort of fashion whilst we negotiate the future relationship.  Set a time limit of 1 year on it and let them know how it'll be if they don't agree a trade deal by then.
Either that or just don't bother with a deal, we don't need one.  Alter our tariffs and tax rates etc to suit us and leave the EU to drown.

Why didn't she choose the easy life?
Start the process 1.4 million people up.
Bit of tub thumping. (Ala Boris).
Set out a vision. (Difficult, she has absolutley none)
Point out Corbyns difficulties and contradictions to the max.
End process 20 million up with all wavering/scared MPs voting with her.
Total lack of belief and leadership.
She is being paid by a master other than the British people. That much is abundantly clear.

MP is worth a try, I had problems with identity theft where someone used my NI number to claim benefits. After a few months of HMRC refusing to talk to me as I was under investigation, I wrote to my MP who resolved it and I got an apology from a senior HMRC bod in just a couple of weeks.
