I saw Timothy Dalton one night in a local upmarket hotel where well behaved regulars were admitted to drink and spend. I didn’t notice him but looked when a local whispered in my ear look who’s at the end of the bar. I had no idea who he was but I  had watched the bond film he was in. The local scribbled 007 on a beermat and the penny dropped but he looked nothing at all like the sauve bond he portrayed in the film. No make up or camera trickery! He was fishing in the area and to his credit was enjoying a quiet few pints after his dinner before retiring.

I'm a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. I've had a few cocktail type or ready mixed cans over Christmas but last Sunday I cooked a New Year's Eve roast and drank half a bottle of Prosecco. I fell asleep at 4 in the afternoon and woke up at 8. I'm a very cheap date.
I don't drink anywhere near enough fluid during the day. Usually a cup of black tea in the morning then 1 or 2 half cups throughout the day. I'm better with squash as I will make it weak and the guzzle it but I'm not a sipper. I usually arrive at the point of dehydration before I decide to make myself a drink.
I do have a soda stream but you have to be mindful of the syrups. I do like it though and the tonic water is pretty good from that.

Some mention of that point in the comments on this interesting blog post about the CCTV images and timelines
    https://www.theblogmire.com/some-questions-for-the-metropolitan-police/
It is really very odd that so many CCTV pictures have been captured of this pair on 4th March 2018 but apparently none of the Skripals who were supposedly in the same part of Salisbury at the same time. The timeline for their known movements does not tie up with the Skripals purported whereabouts so while they potentially could have daubed the Skripals front door handle with nerve agent the poisoning timeline relies on their victims  returning home  and both opening the door. To be honest the Russians sight seeing story does not entirely convince me but they dont appear to fit the profile of assassins either since they have violated pretty much every rule of spycraft and concocted a schedule based on a rail travel timetable that would have been blown out of the water on most weekends when they would have found themselves stuck on a replacement rail bus service. All that is clear is that so far no one has placed them any nearer the Skripals than the same town which is not exactly going to get you a conviction in a criminal court. In the end it depends on whether you trust the liars in the British government more than the liars in the Russian go but we can rest assured that neither is telling the truth here.

I’m confused. That article states that the two pictured on cctv are thought to be Skripal and his daughter. It did seeem more likely to be Dawn and Charlie.

It's a bit annoying as you have to chop and change services if you'd like to watch different things. The Mrs likes the Walking Dead (which I have unceremoniously binned due to it pole-vaulting the shark about two seasons ago), whereas I like GOT, Stranger Things and Vikings so sometimes the streaming becomes rather pricey.
Occasionally we dabble with new series - We watched Jack Ryan recently. Shite, but kind of watchable, however I think when the above series finish our viewing levels will drop substantially.
Regular TV is now borderline unwatchable. The subscription services are knocking it into a cocked hat.

Battenberg reacted to SillyBilly in The Sweden is fucked thread
My judgement of the Swedes held up in the end, they are far too cucked to do anything about it. I honestly think they are the first Europeans to fall now (and by fall, I mean lose most semblance of what made their country what it was). On the positive side, we could now actually do with Sweden going "fast track" and upping their migrant numbers. This way the rest of Europe can observe from the sidelines what a s**tstorm they're headed into and provides essential time to put the brakes on and start moving in reverse. A few countries may have to be sacrificed starting with Sweden...

Oddly enough I expect pilots who flew and died would have quite liked to be remembered in this way.
Having a model aircraft back then was every child's dream..  and the pilots themselves probably made and flew model planes as kids.
A bit like train spotters are now seen as a bit sad,   back in the day trains were things of wonder and excitement.

I’d probably agree with him. I’m afraid I’m a terrible female who’d be strung up by the sisterhood for not being a feminist. I have a niece who’s degree has just got her in the police force. Knowing the type of person she is only confirms my awareness of how truly fcuked we are.

And unsurprisingly there is a steady rise in crime of which people are fully aware.  Which is happening because the police are spending their time and money "raisng awareness" and having a chat.

Battenberg reacted to Reck B in Don’t die on the weekend.
Don’t die on the weekend. It’s inconvenient.
And see your GP within four weeks of your death. Otherwise it may be marked as ‘unexpected’ and the police may have to be called if you die at home.
That’s a couple of things I’ve learned these past 24 hours.
I’ve notified the family and friends with the news and now it’s time to tell you, fellow ascii malcontents who make me smile and think more than a lot of the 3D people in my life.
You may have seen some recent posts about his diagnosis and subsequent care. My dad has died. At 9am this morning 08/09/2018.
I held him as he shook and swayed and gasped his final breaths.  Thankfully Mum heard my shouts and made it into the room at the very end, when his last words were “I have a lovely wife. And a lovely son.”
I’m glad I was with him even though the whole experience is etched on my brain and I can’t close my eyes without seeing it happen again.
He beat the 3 -6 month expectancy by 6-9 months and fit in a ‘proper’ African safari in October. He skied chamonix with me and his grandkids this March. He cut the grass on Thursday and his body gave up on Saturday morning. What a trooper. I’m gonna miss him.

I don’t think the negative reputation system was installed to avoid debate.
I don’t think that viewpoints that are poorly argued are helpful.
I think that discussion should find the truth.
