  1. I have 17k of cash in my stocks & share ISA , decided i'm going to buy 1k of stock each day for the next 17 trading days in companies i already own. I'm only paying £5.95 a trade. Just bought Shell @ 1799
  2. I used to laugh at the people who had misbehaved on a saturday night and having their membership suspended until they had appeared in front of the committee. So many people got banned but the clubs still managed to get by , then Wetherspoon bought the old Midland Bank in town and all the Workings Men Clubs were fucked.
  3. John Smiths £1 a pint in the one near me this weekend between 4 & 7. They were even advertising it as cheaper than Tesco.
  4. What street in Selby is that ? Abbots Road? Looks like the council houses in Drax Village to me.
  5. Bramall Lane also has some brilliant pubs within easy walking distance , a ground in a city centre is a rare thing these days.
  6. Check Selby out. Brilliant rail connections , York & Leeds in 20 minutes , Doncaster , Hull , Newcastle , Manchester & Airport , London direct trains. Cheap housing. Vibrant town centre . M62 and A1 very close. East Yorkshire coast an hour away. A terrace house in York will cost you 300k , 15 minutes drive south in Selby it will cost you 100k.
  7. Running through ladders all over the shop for me lately. BP , Shell , Wynnstay , Babcock have eaten a good chunk of my spare cash up. All forever stocks but i wasn't expecting to have quite so many just yet.
  8. I know somebody who is serving life in Wakefield Prison for the murder of 4 people. For long periods of time he has been held in solitary because he attacked Ian Huntley. I believe he will end up in similar circumstances to the bloke in the OP.
  9. I value your opinion on the oil sector and i've got quite a large part of my portfolio in BP & Shell. I've been watching bloomberg quite a bit today and an analyst was on earlier saying that Shell isn't breaking even with the price of Gas below the point of the cost to get it to market. I was going to keep adding to my positions on any weakness in BP & Shell but it has surprised me how unloved the energy sector is , the talking heads on bloomberg don't rate it all. Going to keep my powder dry for a few months , though BP at 400p and Shell at 1500p would be too hard to turn down.
  10. BP and Shell both went ex-dividend today. I want some more for that dividend but i'm sure there will be a better buying opportunity in the next 3 months.
  11. He joined in Jan 92 , made 15 appearances and scored 3 goals.
  12. Leeds won the title in 1992 . Think Howard Wilkinson was the last English Manager to win the English Title.
  13. Babcock reported this morning. Interesting about the oil & gas. (Sharecast News) - Engineering firm Babcock lowered its full year profit guidance range on Wednesday due to contract award delays in its aviation division and an ?85m write down on oil and gas assets. The company said it now forecast underlying operating profit of ?540m compared with a previous range of ?540m - ?560m. Revenue guidance was unchanged at around ?4.9bn. The aerospace and defence contractor last week announced that Scottish chief executive Archie Bethel was retiring, In a trading update for the first nine months of the financial year, Babcock said it had won or been selected as preferred bidder for aerial emergency services contracts worth around ?600m in Italy and Spain. However, delays in awarding them had pushed revenue in future periods. "Oil and gas continues to be a tough market. The three large providers of helicopter services who operate worldwide in oil and gas have all emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with reduced debt and written-down assets," Babcock said. "This has effectively reset global market pricing levels, forcing us to respond quickly to remain competitive. We will also exit our oil and gas businesses in Ghana and Congo."
  14. Leeds are not competing in European Fooball. Even with the billions of pounds the Qataris have it would still take at least 2 years to worry about that problem. King Power own Leicester in England and Louven in Belgium.
  15. I downloaded this last night , very interesting reading. Well worth the few seconds it takes to download. The dropapk link is very quick. http://scene-rls.net/your-fund-choices-february-2020/
