She went into cardiac arrest on the plane.  Apparently the BA defibrilator wasn't working. CPR on it's own is unlikely to save someone, the chance of success is 3-4%. A working defib raises that to 70%+ if administered with 3 minutes.
Again, if i had a life-threatening food allergy I would not eat out. Ever. All my food would be home-prepared from known ingredients. No exceptions.

Bill Gates foundation, Apple and those behind Google, all have Operating Systems, Browsers and Office/Cloud services to sell and don't like competition or god forbid, free stuff developed by 'communists'.
Logic now being that SJWs are actually fake or thick sheep like cunts working for the corparatists.

Believe it or not, the first job I got out of uni at the back end of the 80s came with luncheon vouchers. They were worth approximately nothing and almost nowhere accepted them but the company was such a basket case that it never had the energy to stop issuing them (they had some unions to deal with too).

L'express counts 4200 banking jobs going to Paris and another 20,000 ancillary jobs. Only problem is, no-one wants to move to Paris ! People are leaving London banks for elsewhere rather than be forced to move to the French capital. This is causing a staffing headache. Amongst Paris problems: endless transport strikes, pollution, no housing, no school places and sky high taxes.

Take an effective 50% pay cut, get saddled with running a department where no-one can be fired even if they do no work, pay nose-bleed amounts of money for little Johnny & Jemima to go to one of about 3 English language schools in Paris, get stabbed walking home from work past a shanty town and have to sweat it out at night school learning a language that is useful only in France, some of the nastier part of Africa, Quebec and Deliverance country! Attractive package eh?!

Last winter it pissed me off to see the people in the local council houses with their windows open all day while we were at 15C. 50% of my leccy bill is taxes, a big chunk to fund poor people to heat the outside world.

Im not sure there is any skilled immigration.
At best there was short bursts when exceptional events occured - fall of ussr, freeing up highly trained manager class, China entering wto on terms designed by for piss poor african retarded countries.
    These are over.
Wages for the 20% skilled in ex ussr have adjusted. I was adked to go to estonia, for free, to see if id like moving there. Afaict there are no cheap skilled workers in europe now.
China. Trumps was the outcome if their jolly wheeze.
India - TCS. Waste of time. No skills there, just bullshitters. I wont touch outsorcing comoany products.
All uk are getting are non skilled dossers, prooped up by native tax payers. See my other threads on minimum earning for work permit.

You'd have thought parents would have gotten over their Oliver fixation. As for different spellings, that's down to it being a foreign name and different viewpoints on how it should be spelt, in the case of Mohammet it all comes to the same thing. Although it is more a reflection of the Ropers lack of imagination than anything else.

I definitely remember a very long walk on one such visit as I'd spent the taxi money on three cans of McEwans Export from the buffet car on the train. I seem to recall I went to two by train and my dad took me in a works van to the third one as he was going in that vague direction anyway.
All fairly pointless as the actual visits had no bearing on my decision where to go as I went to the one a cousin had been rejected by as I knew it would annoy my aunt.

It's only the last year where I've heard of parents taking their children to prospective unis for a look round and or interview; it seems to be the new norm.  Not just those with a single cosseted child as you might imagine but those with several.
I don't think this happened to anyone I knew at school; in every case it was train or coach ticket paid and there you go.  If it was a long way (one of mine was Cornwall to Durham) then the uni provided a room.
Even doing this is a growing / learning experience to navigate and plan (how do you get from the train station to the uni? though you could usually walk), get on with new people and actually be self reliant.
These are seventeen year olds who in most societies at most times in history would be regarded as adults and they are being treated as little children who can't manage to get to another English town and back on their own.
No wonder so many graduates are immature and unemployable.

This is bad news. I was always comforted by the thought that in a bad situation, my son only needed to outrun the women, not the enemy.

Mine visited my University once, when I graduated. I visited my parents 3 times a year. That didn't seem unusual 35 years ago.

Ironically it is largely the women who are screaming for the immigration and other SJW policies.
If you ask a room full of men whether they want a bunch of sub-saharan immigrants coming into their country I bet that 90% will say no. Hell no.

So, what is going on with John Lewis and their massive fall in profits? I always thought that they had a unique ownership structure in that each worker had a stake in the company?
To be honest, I think people just don't have much money these days and nobody is buying expensive furniture because they have no space and no permanent home. It's also too expensive to have a high street shop once you factor in rates, taxes etc all whilst the big companies are able to (legally with the help of the Government turning a blind eye) avoid as much tax as possible which other companies can't.
