  1. Any bets for the start date of the hosepipe ban ?
  2. Does anyone know what % of normal healthy adults that contract the virus get severe symptoms? The vast majority of the fatalities are among the very old, the very fat and the very sick. While not a representative sample I personally know of 6 healthy adults ( including myself) who have had the lurgy and none have experienced severe symptoms.
  3. Please forgive my ignorance but if the 'vaccine' does not 1. stop you getting or transmitting the virus sufficiently to end lockdowns and does not 2.reduce the symptoms sufficiently to allow those now shielding in care homes to be released what does it do?

  5. I don't think that anyone visibly enjoyed the process. It was rather embarrassing for most. A few seemed too stunned to speak beyond yes or no. Despite being the youngest I got myself elected as foreman. I was probably the least shocked and I was keen to conclude matters as quickly as possible and get to the pub.
  6. Was called for jury service many years ago. The first case involved fairly mundane larceny. The second was a little more interesting. Prior to starting the judge apologised to the members of the jury and in particular to the women for the distasteful nature of the proceedings. It was a prosecution under the Obscene Publications Act. Pre internet days the police had raided a back street cinema showing dirty movies. It was up to the jury to decide whether these qualified as a breach of the law and as such we were obliged to watch seven movies. The only room suitable for this and large enoug
  7. Relative with whom I had been in contact tested positive ( PCR ) three days later. He suffered shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell, a fever and a cough. Unpleasant but not serious and is now ok. I self isolated for 10 days but chose not to take the PCR as I didn't want to add to the statistics. Asymptomatic apart from one incident of diorehea and elevated temperature resolved with paracetamol. Otherwise fine. Subsequent antibody test confirmed that I had indeed had the lurgy. Any other year the whole event would have not have been worthy of mention.
  8. First floor flat - no heating in use. Outside temperature 8C. Inside temperature 17C Everybody needs good neighbours........
  9. I have had a PAYG telephone sim with 3 for many years. To date the rates have been I received a text today to say that as from 16 Feb the new rates will be Some serious inflation in the pipeline.
  10. Small ray of sunshine. It is 10 days self isolation not 14. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/
  11. Case count as of three weeks ago 1,888,447. Fatalities (assumed with virus) as of yesterday 75,431 Hence assuming that anyone who tested positive three weeks ago or longer has either recovered or died then the lowest figure for tested +ve and recovered is 1,813,016. Recovery rate 96% The actual infection recovery rate will be much higher given the number of asymptomatic / minor cases that don't get tested and the exaggeration of the number of fatalities inherent in the recording of 'died with' within 28 days.
  12. It beggars belief that anyone could be so incompetent as Boris and chums appear to be. Corruption and self interest may explain a lot but one might expect it to better concealed. Perhaps those really pulling the strings have deeply incriminating and scandalous evidence against key figures which they are using to control them.
  13. We were previously told to expect 50,000 cases a day by the middle of October and that this would equate to 4,000 fatalities every day. Thanks to encouraging people to get tested whether they are sick or not we have achieved the case target albeit nearly three months later than forecast. Unfortunately for the government the case fatality rate has gone backwards and we are currently averaging 600 a day with this number likely to fall further. This is without any benefit from the vaccine. How is the government going to prevent further embarrassment?
