Has anyone ever owned an MGB? I have been eyeing one up for a while. The soft tops are more expensive than the GTs strangely.

NO just no!

That is awful, Lancia Martini decals on an MGB.

Had two MGBs

Softop 1800, not quick, not much grip, handled ok, unreliable

Hardtop V8, awful, not quick, not much grip, didn't handle, unreliable. Made a nice noise is the only good thing I can say about it.

I didn't mean that specific one, I prefer the soft tops. Previously you could get them for a couple of grand but it looks like theyve been withdrawn now on Auto Trader as the cheapest one is £10k.

Soft tops always cost more. Lid goes down, price goes up!

Mazda MX5 is much better than the old MGB.

I don't want a boring car like an Mx-5. I want something that breaks down, stinks of oil, but looks cool on a Sunday drive.

Happy VE Day spotters - and because it is VE Day I have just broken my oldest vehicle spotted record by five years...! :)

Parked near the Co-op this afternoon in celebration of the VE Day anniversary was this lovely 1938 Austin 10.

I've just spotted a DMC Delorean driving past the end of my street.  I remember passing one on the A1 a year or 2 ago.  I wonder if it's the same one, can't be many about.

Probably the same one I saw next Thursday.

Interestingly, all Deloreans are silver colour.

The body panels are unpainted stainless steel.  :)

Sorry couldn't resist. Quite a few were coated as the stainless is prone to discolouration from finger prints etc. Most were polished and then lacquered, some were painted like this one.

Right, try this. Go onto howmanyleft and pick a manufacturer and a distinctive model no longer made.
      1) note down the peak year and number of cars.
      2) halve the number of cars left and note down the year.
      3) halve it again and note the year
Rating equals time to halve 1 / time to halve 2
      Examples
      VW Corrado 16V
      1995 - 3800
      2006 - 1900
      2011 - 928
      Corrado = 11/5
      Fiat Bravo 2.0 HGT
      1999 - 1368
      2007 - 769
      2010 - 382
      Bravo = 8/3
      Rover 25 GTi
      2002 - 1295
      2011 - 649
      2013 - 336
      Rover 25 = 9/2
      Nissan Almera 2.0 GTi
      2000 - 1400
      2009 - 700
      2011 - 370
      Nissan Almera = 9/2
      Toyota Celica GT 2.0
      2001 - 2223
      2013 - 1152
      2018 - 536
      Toyota Celica = 12/5
Chewy over all rankings from 5 contenders
      1) Toyota
      2) VW
      3) Nissan/Rover
      4) Fiat
Anyone else fancy a go, who can find the worst and best / highest lowest chewy scores
