Same as Greg Mannarino, bit reluctant to post his vid as it's more trading than macro and he's an acquired taste but today's daily vid is interesting

I actually don't mind him, bit Michael Burry-esque. And at least he actually states what he's going to do, unlike most of the waffling wankers on YouTube

Gold has fallen through the $1760 support level. I was about to top up Harmony and put a first ladder into PAAS and Endeavour, will wait and watch now. Next price I will watch is 1700, see if it bounces off that.

Oh well, SP has it in that case. Further usage (After all we all know the MSM read this thread ;)) owes royalties payable to SP.

The one another thread I liked from HPC was Suntory's ‘We Are Facing Another Global Financial Crisis Of Epic Proportions’ but no need to resurrect that one as I think we all know we’re already there. :)

I watch Greg everyday, never posted here as @Underwhelmed says it's more trading.

I don't even trade but it's quite interesting, bit repetitive sometimes but then it's a groundhog market most days

Don't  mention the Coronavirus here.

I come down to the basement to cheer myself up.

Hang on: THIS is the basement?

I thought it was the other sections.

So all this time when people have talked of the weirdos in the basement and I was nodding along, I was actually one of them..........🤦‍♂️

Girlfriend A gets £2300 a month. Everything she consumes then is someone elses labour or saved labour.

Girlfriend B ran up £84k of credit card debts and loans.

As I was reading this, the words Energy Vampires sprung to mind, and then strangely enough @Underwhelmed posted the YouTube Clip of Gregory Mannarino.   He looks really ill as if he needs a blood transfusion. just look at the dark circles around his eyes. Definately too many late nights for him.

This is weird.  That's straight out of a Greg Mannarino vid

Time immemorial!

Interesting he mentions old school measures see $275,i see $200 with an outlier at $300.That $80 level could be shakeout area though.Im more bothered about that.

Imagine the rest of the economy if oil is trading at those levels.Transporting heavy lower value goods will really suffer.

DB, Can you clarify "shakeout"?

Why? I know plenty of unemployed software people courtesy of Covid and now everyone can successfully WFH who the frick needs a visa to work in a foreign country.

As for the low-skilled we have Millions of them on benefits.

I don't understand this either. All the grunt work has been offshored to India and the Philippines. The highly skilled stuff, like low latency specialists, are in the process of being offshored to eastern Europe, particularly Poland and Estonia.

I suppose he'd like some more tax revenue and is fully aware that we're at the point where simply raising rates will result in lower take.

A small fall in a stock value causing people to take say, 30% profits. They are not in it for the long run just take the profit.

Pullbacks enough to convince a lot of people to sell only to whipsaw them as it resumes a march higher.

If I was back in employment then I'd select a portfolio approach (see earlier posts or shout) and then drip feed the monthly savings into the worst performing asset class, e.g. rebalancing the portfolio by buying low. With an appropriate porfolio you should be placed to benefit in the long run regardless of what happens in the economy. You wont make 100% gains but you wont have heartburn either.

Interesting, thanks. I decided a while back that I didn't have enough to split across a full selection of companies in each sector so I've ended up with slightly higher risk but I've got my cash spread across BP, BAT, BT, GSK, RBSB, TEF & VOD, as well as some silver and gold. I'd welcome feedback if you're willing but also very concious this isn't a stock tips thread, and I'm obviously responsible for my own research. I suppose I could do a lot worse than continue to drip feed into these guys, rather than worrying about how to find what else to buy (something I'm not very good at yet)

You have 3 telcos; 2 big oil; 1 big pharmaceutical and 1 tobacco. All good companies and what you buy should be down to your goals. Personally I’d look to diversify a little, but clearly you should do what you’re comfortable with and not listen to a random on the internet who’s not allowed to give financial advice.

Edit: Joke, btw.  How about a miner, or miners ETF?

Anglo American has done very well for me so far.

I did some work for them in IT a few years back. They seemed pretty dysfunctional to be honest. Obviously glad I missed them out now!

Did you get a Husqvarna one? Orange handle? I love mine more than is healthy for an apparently sane grown man.

I got the Forest Axe. It's for chopping firewood, and trimming my beard.
