A is for Atiyah?!

S is for Samir?!

F is for fuck off

B is for Bollocks.

Named storms are generally entirely forgettable particularly as different countries have a habit of giving the same storm different names. I think that is because they have no tie to reality whereas the Great Storm of October 1987 or the Burns Day Storm of 1990 can be placed at a moment in time. The important facts are the date,  time, place, windspeed, rainfall etc .  I think the reason they like using names is because it gives the media something to hype and ensures meteorologists get their three minutes of fame on TV. The truth is the names are just meaningless and they would better of simply numbering them.
