Teah, see these all the time.

Like sky scrapers, church conversions occur during the mad bits ofthe poerpty cycle.

'Oh dahhhling, look at that sweet chrch. We could convert it and make $$$$$$$$'

Never works.

One, its a toal legal minefield. Canon and listed buildings.

Two, chrichs werenot designed to live in. They are designed to be airy, so self ventilate.

You either live in a a v drafty building. Or tur it into a sweat box.

Heating bills are horrendous.

Three, the conversions just end up looking daft - too mcuh space, not enoguh rooms.

Like a massive fucking studio flat.

Its either a house or it falls down or becomes a Mosque with buried kuffar in the grounds.

House is probably the least worst option as long as the building has some sort of listed status for its exterior.

I've had a virtual drive around. Much prefer the parsonage next door. There are a couple of farms beyond that and then the Moor, very Bronte-esque. Drive back to the main road and the first thing you hit is another church. Very God fearing lot at one time obviously. A bit treeless and grim, maybe, and plenty of time to comtemplate ones mortality with a garden full of headstones.

I'd never live in a church or chapel for the reasons spygirl said. Plus all this shite over consecrated ground means any sort of building work is a no-no. Ecclesiastical are a whole subset of Listed buildings and have their own silly rules and regs, a lot of people are put off buying  regular Listed Building for this reason so it's ten times worse in a church.

Canon law.

Existed before plebs law.

Wierd, wonderful and fucking expensive.

If you think a legal case against big cos are expensive, never try one against an established church. Cunts have been practising being cunts for 1500 years.
