Axed November budget - impact on housing ?

Housing bosses and estate agents were hoping the planned November budget would boost the sluggish housing market - the budget has now been scrapped https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/housing-bosses-anger-november-budget-100443046.html My heart bleeds 9_9

Here's a few suggestions to get the housing market moving : Brexit (do it or bin it, either will end the current uncertainty that is stopping folk from committing to buying a house), remove the "props" (HTB etc) that have over-inflated houses prices way beyond what a typical family can afford, remove the raft of anti-landlord legislation that's appeared in recent years ( workers can't / won't buy houses at 6x annual salary, landlords are being over-taxed and over-regulated so aren't buying and many are actually selling up).

Surely, when we leave on the 31st, it will be imperative that we have a budget.

does this signal that the fascist, quisling bastards have no intention of carrying out the will of the people?  Surely not.

House are too expensive for workers so you want landlords to have so many tax breaks they can price the workers out even more? When a landlord sells do you think the house goes up in a puff of smoke?

How many BTLs do you have?

Houses are too expensive for workers, and the increasing tax take from landlords means they are selling up not buying more. Any wonder the market has stalled ?

Having an idea of how easy it is for tennants to trash a rental place then live rent-free for 6 months before they can be evicted, there's no way I'll become a landlord. My BTL score = 0 (and I'm very happy to keep it that way ! )

You want the market moving but think landlords selling doesn't help do that? If landlords are selling and not buying more, then workers must be buying them.

I don't want the housing market moving, I don't rely on commission from sales, I want it flat on it's back not responding to CPR.

Easy credit has resulted in people viewing property as an investment. Now it's seen as a no brainer to make money. Interest only mortgages and rock bottom interest rates have led to far too many people "investing" in property. Incentives need to be removed so house prices can reduce to historic norms in terms of what workers can afford.

If not, there really isn't an incentive for workers to get out of bed.

how were these offered a flat? obviously illegal, no children or dependants, but it says they were offered a flat, ffs.

All the crap the left come out with about illegals not having access to benefits is nonsense but they still spout it. Millions occupying housing when they should be deported immediately.

We have had 20 years of serious illegal immigration, there has to be millions, have many just been given passports?

But on the other hand you will see cases where a child is 14 but cannot get a passport because their parents came here illegally

Is it really as easy as bringing someone through a ferry port as a passenger in your car? If she had known his name would she have got through? Presumably the woman was only asked because she got greedy and tried two this time?

A mum has been jailed after she was stopped driving a car through Holyhead port with two Albanian illegal immigrants inside.

Linda Jankovska, 24, of Cruise Park Drive, Blanchardstown, Dublin, admitted facilitating a breach of immigration law on September 10.

Prosecuting barrister Simon Mills said Britain and Ireland had long-standing free movement arrangements.

"It’s necessary for the arrangements at Holyhead to be as they are," he said.

"Unfortunately, that can be sadly exploited by people who wish to do so."

Judge Timothy Petts told Jankovska at Caernarfon crown court that such offences had to be met with deterrent sentences.

"They undermine the basis of immigration control," he said.

Jankovska, a shop worker and pizza deliverer, was jailed for two years and four months, and forfeiture of her Audi car was ordered.

The prosecutor said she had two Albanian men with her after arriving on a ferry from Dublin.

The court heard that the ferry booking had been made using false names and paid for in cash.

When stopped at Holyhead, Jankovska said she was going to see a friend at Chester and then driving to Colchester.

She told border officials her front seat passenger was her boyfriend but, when asked for his name, had replied: "Whatever he said."

My mrs meets lots of people though her work and one is married to an Albanian, apparently there are flaws in our airports to get Albanians into the UK. They somehow fly direct to southern Ireland 'legally'. They then take an easyjet into Bristol airport and somehow change channels there so they dont need to go through border security. The government must be complicit in this as it is a loop hole been open for many years.

Maybe they transit into Northern Ireland take a flight from there and its considered a domestic flight??? either way its a shambles, 1000s are using this a way to travel back and forwards to Albania.

Flights from Dublin to Heathrow fly into the domestic section of the airport so no passport checks.

So this is free market Tory partys policy on housing.

Extend Help to Buy and 30% discount on prices for FTB's.

Well i was a FTBer 22 years ago and owned for 6 months so thats me out.

And they mock Corbyn for being socialist.

Tory ideology is that the free market is king until it relates to their assets.

Can we also pay attention the fact that home now means any old pile of shit thrown together with the cheapest materials the builder can lay their hands on

I would like to claim "Anhedonic correction factor" as a multiplier to use when comparing 'then' and now.

Its a sick joke, they have to outbid their own insane policy to keep up with Corbyn .. 30% now for HTB. But now they're somehow going to guarantee fixed rate mortgages for the long term. I bet those builders have pictures of prominent Tory MPs interfering with kids, as surely they cant be selling the nation down the river for a few hundred grand.

I hate the socialist cunts, ones like Steve Baker really get my goat when he claims to be a capitalist from the Austrian school, yet by promoting this proves he's a Blairite socialist cunt.

I saw they are extending, didnt realise they are also increasing the proportion. Is London staying at 40% or increasing too?

I always thought that Steve Baker was the voice of reason in the conservatives. Basically telling them that the banks and central bankers are crooks. If he talks about HPI being a good thing then it is even worse as he has actively spoken about the effects of QE and credit creation as pure market manipulation to make the banks money.
