I had to look that one up. She always looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

Yes. You've described how she looks perfectly!

The creme de la creme. Not!

No wonder this country's fucked.

If she scrutinises the governments finances correctly I'll be expecting her eyes to be popping out her face in shock at the diabolical state of them.

All the best people are a bit mad.

I'm not joking on that; though they are often described as "driven" instead.

Just because a person is mad doesn't mean they are one of the best though.

Morgan did not have an original thought whilst education secretary.

No, but every really excellent person I've met has been slightly leftfield to everyone else. I know I am (though not claiming to be excellent) but run off lots of drivers that are entirely different to other people.

As an example at one company I went from temp to second highest paid (out of 600+) in about five years, but my main driver was wanting to have the oldest non-classic car in the car park so I paid a lot of money to keep mine going and kept encouraging a woman parked near me (with an F reg to my H - 1988 to 1990) to change her car.

I've read a lot of stuff about many people who do really well being psychopaths. Not in the horror killer type way. Like you say they are driven plus they are low on empathy for others and feel no guilt about back stabbing etc.

Probably a lot of truth in that IMO. I'm not saying all very successful people are like that though.

new select committee chairs announced.

Former education secretary Nicky Morgan has been elected as chairwoman of the influential Treasury select committee.

Ms Morgan saw off five other Tory MPs to land the coveted role scrutinising the government's finances.

O.o

Chairwoman?

Is that the lady who sets the chairs out for the meetings in which men decide important things?

Gendered language is quite interesting. They would normally go for chairperson in our newspeak landscape.

And yes, putting out the chairs is probably the height of her capabilities.
