BBC + Equality

Oh dear. On the radio and headlining the paper.

Only 1/3 of the So-Called BBC top paid 'stars' are women.

I wonder how many of the top paid, say over 60k, are women?

I wonder how many are ethnic.

I think the So-Called BBC should take a queue from a sector of the entertainment industry where equlaity is taken to the  extreme and women are paid the most, as they are the stars - Porn.

I look forward to BBCANAL, BBCTEEN, BBCBIGBOOBS.

And its diverse too:

This was on the So-Called BBC's bastard offspring Channel 4 last night.

"When Football Banned Women"

Quote

Clare Balding uncovers the hidden history of women's football. A hundred years ago, the women's game dominated the headlines and attracted crowds of up to 60,000. The star players everyone wanted to see were teenage striker Lily Parr and her teammate Alice Woods, and the most popular team in England was Dick, Kerr's Ladies. Clare reveals how women's football teams grew out of munitions factories during the First World War where women had replaced men sent into battle. It also uncovers an untold chapter in the fight for equality waged at a time when women ruled the pitch.

Is the above really true?

100 years ago was 1917, rather than kicking a ball about young men were in a muddy field in France getting their arms and legs blown off. Not being flippant, that's why it was "successful" because it was literally the only football your were able to watch. Keep in mind there was no mens football at all from 1916 - 1919

FA never banned women's football in any true sense of the word, they just didn't allow members to share their grounds with female teams. Women could still play football, people could still watch it, it died a rapid death shortly after men's football restarted.

and the most popular team in England was Dick, Kerr's Ladies

Again disingenuous, there was only women's football so of course it was the most popular.

It's like spending £400 on a cooker and then having to spend £150 a year for the privilege of using it. Only, you don't actually get to use it yourself. Throughout the year, people from all around the world come into your kitchen to cook food, none of which you want to eat. They then lecture you about how amazing their food is, and how all the food you like is shit.

It's all part of the unique way in which your cooker the So-Called BBC is funded.

Whilst this entire "Sexism" row is likely a pile of shite. I am very much looking forward to the sanctimonious cunts at the So-Called BBC being hoisted by their own petard.

Fuck em.

On Fivelive now they have a phone-in saying that female presenters salaries need to rise to match the men... Um, why not drop the hugely overpaid male presenter salaries.

Yep, equality of outcome is the new normal.  Everybody is beige.

So it was all covered up for some reason, "banned", until now because there doesn't seem to have been a mention of it in living memory until now.  How come it's only now and so convenient when anyone who might remember it would have died off by now - but they'll make a few bob from the programme and the slant.

So Balding must have found evidence.  Considering how people will collect anything there must still be some old tickets and programmes available.  Newspaper articles about the 60,000 crowds, maybe league tables and results.

Maybe it did happen but nobody thought it worth remarking on after the war, there wasn't enough interest in it then - but now they can stir up feelings 100 years on and put the patriarchs and sexists "banned" it slant on it.  The slant is rubbish - society was completely different and after WW1 few women had jobs and there was no birth control pill or TV and few movies etc etc.

They're expecting men (and some would say women) to pay for that sort of old hat stuff being dragged up for all eternity - stick it I say.

Never seen the film "A league of their own" about women's baseball during WWII?

No, but the remake with James Corden looks absolutely shite.
