Oldham Council is temporarily introducing weekly general waste collections from Monday, March 30, due to the coronavirus crisis.

 

basically put everything into the grey bin.

However a shredding company has explained they use shredded confidential documents for the production of tissue. 

No shredding equals a reduction in tissue.

So all paper waste should now be sent into this process. It's be madness to dump a useful resource.

I don't understand - had you previously been on fortnightly collections and now they've made it weekly on public health grounds?

THREE weekly general waste bin collection.
Three weekly paper recycling and three weekly tins etc.
So it goes General, Paper, Tins/Bottles 
Green waste / Food waste is collected every week.

I am concerned that the lack of shredded paper is going to impact on the ability of the UK to have a good supply of tissue! 

I also dislike the idea of putting it all in the grey bin.
