Similarities (Influences?)

When I first heard 'Both Ends Burning' by Roxy Music (1975)...

...I thought the background track(s) sounded very much like 'The Day after the Revolution' by Pulp (1998).    ^Is she still married to Murdoch?

Muddy Waters' "Hoochie Coochie Man" (1954) versus Bo Diddley's "I'm A Man" (1955) versus David Bowie's "The Jean Genie" and The Sweet's "Blockbuster" - both of which were in the top 3 of the UK singles charts during the same week in January 1973.

Famous one here. Brian Wilson tried to claim he wrote this as a tribute to Chuck Berry, but Chuck's lawyers didn't see it that way.

With the threat of court action, The Beach Boys eventually gave in, and in 1966 Berry was given a writing credit. All the rights were also moved to his publishing company.
