This one sticks in my throat

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/uk-coronavirus-pandemic-live-advice-21805328

"Charities to get £750m bailout package to help vital work continue"

Charities where "talented execs" get paid 6 figure salaries + pensions to "help" people get a bail out.

Donating to charity is discretionary, end of.

I said when Sajid David walks and this ex GD rich banker **** of a man was put in place it was going to be a disaster.

It'll get worse.

I disagree. I think it was a pathetic offering.

I work with a lot of very small charities who do great things, and they are really suffering.

Ignore British Heart Foundation and the like, charities like the Samaritans and the CAB have a massive roll to play and need supporting. As do local hospices and many others.

I doubt it will go to the small, local charities though. It will go to shave the children and suchlike.

If it is like all the other announcements it will go nowhere.

CAB are completely useless in the age of Google, I rang them once and all I got was "err, umm, not sure, can't say".

Samaritans on the other hand, now there's a charity that should be given more funding. I offered to volunteer for them once but pulled out after the interview/training day, I just wasn't made of tough enough stuff to deal with that then (and probably aren't now either).
