Some Spanish mayor decided to spray bleach all over the beach earlier this week.

This event is certainly bringing the mentally ill and terminally stupid out into the open for all to see.

It won't be good for the wildlife.

Nuts when sunlight, etc. kills the virus already.

This looks like a fun (and power hungry) way to do it:

edit: They're spraying a hydrogen peroxide mix - right into the face of a fireman at one stage

I'd guess that the video has no sound because of the noise of the yellow genset, and the snow blower itself

Isn't this just tokenism - only done so you can be seen to be doing something?

Was just about to make the same point. There's no politician on earth that could survive standing up and saying "There's literally nothing useful we can do, so we'll do nothing". There will be all manner of this bollocks before we're done. See cloth face masks for example. Probably do fuck all, may actually increase risk but they are visible and look like "something" is being done,. It would be as effective to have a load of T shirts printed up saying:

"If you can read this you're too fucking close. Back off dickhead"

Wouldn't want to be living near the cliffs in Dover if they do that here!

I thought China did this to spook everyone. It does seem completely pointless!

Reckon they did it in certain areas to establish safe working / containment / staging zones / temp accommodation areas, lots of people and materials to move into one or two locations - especially in Wuhan where thousands were drafted in from safe areas. Also winnie the poo visited so he would have had special treatment. Effective or not, required or not, who knows.

Where can I buy one of these excellent t shirts?

It was probably a cover to get rid of some toxic liquid industrial waste while no-one was paying attention.

I remember on Gardeners' Question Time a few years back a woman saying that every spring her mother collected up all of the gravel from her garden path and washed it.  She had been an apprentice gardener at a big house and had done it there so kept doing it at her own house.

The panel was undecided whether this was one of those activities purely designed to keep apprentices busy or whether it was something that used to be common like scrubbing your front doorstep.

Cleaning gravel is very time-consuming if you do it properly with a toothbrush.

This was a few years back but IIRC she was giving it a good scrub.
