When it's come up on Mumsnet (you have to read those threads don't you!) there is always reference to "leakage" if you do it too much.

Yuk.

I have experienced shoving it in there a few times, but I fail to really see the appeal when there's a vagina next door.

And whilst I have no moral problems with it; the orifice in question wasn't designed for that so I can see how frequent use in that way could cause problems.

I have no moral problems with it either

But xxx surely does accepting it

And I reckon Joe is clearly lying

Landsec to sell off a third of its portfolio in shift from retail

Developer says it remains committed to London but will focus on ‘new growth opportunities’

Mark Allan, chief executive of the FTSE 100 property company, announced it would sell roughly £4bn worth of assets, 60 per cent of them in London, over the next four to five years and reinvest in areas of the market where it could eke out the most value.

Ronnie Wood selling up and moving out; more equity heading to the countryside.

Quote

But he said he spends more time these days in the countryside with his wife Sally Humphreys, 42, and their four-year-old twin daughters Alice and Gracie.

He added: "We are selling because we spend more time in the countryside, as the girls go to school there.

The City of London Corporation, which governs the Square Mile, has drawn up a plan to create start-up hubs and more affordable workplaces in London for smaller businesses, many of which have been hard hit by the Covid-19 lockdown.

The plan also recommends that “flexible working” season tickets for rail travel be considered in line with new commuter behaviour in order to accommodate some homeworking. The City has also said that buildings need to be better designed for remote working practices, with spaces to socialise and meet.

I like these rescue palns where another party takes a hit to their income rather than the org involved ...

Why in fuck would a startup base themselves in one of the UKs most expensive areas that require their workers to take a long expensive commute?

Business development / sales.  Much easier to do face-to-face.

Hire a room.

Seriously.

Once you have your prospects interested, maybe, but you need to find them first.  That's where conferences, meetups and other networking events come in useful, particularly for startups.

RBS were told months ago that they'd be not be in before Christmas.

They're going to have a battle on their hands getting people back in at all.

Yeah. Who's going to want that long commute ever again?

Indeed.

Given that the Government has now told people to work from home for a minimum of 6 months (from mid-September), it's quite clear that London will remain largely empty until at least April or May 2021. And I think that is optimistic.

People will never be going back to 5 day a week commuting again. At best the levels will be 50% down, so businesses will need to adjust to 50% less footfall on a permanent basis.

I think it's for the best. People do not need long commutes.

Agree. I don't see how they will make a sensible case for people paying £400 a month and wasting 3 hours a day commuting, when they can do the same work at home (and have been doing the same work at home for a year or so).

I've never met anyone who wanted to commute.

All businesses will be forced to offer massive WFH options to stay competitive in the market. If they don't, they will lose their staff.

My quiet hope that in the future...all those lost secondary jobs return to the suburbs.

It would help with a long term decline in what might be called, community. I would value that.

I can definitely see ice cream vans being replaced by hot food vans going around estates. Just simple stuff needed, vats of chilli and rice etc. Micropubs should continue to proliferate too.

No. But they do need a reasonable size home to work from.

Which are mainly owned by the retired.
