Death Of London

They said in the radio that Oxford Street was absolutely heaving today as people rushed to buy Christmas presents prior to lockdown.

This government has taken Covid mismanagement to a whole new level.

Mr Hancock said there was "nothing to suggest" it caused worse disease or that vaccines would no longer work.

That's just an attempt at softening the blow. It will likely go something like this.

Oh, by the way, there's a new variant. Nothing to worry about. Vaccine is our saviour!
Vaccine's going well. New variant is  of slight concern, but not  much to worry about.
New variant is starting to worry us slightly. Signs that it may be resistant to the vaccine. But keep taking the vaccine, as the old variant is still the main problem!
We are now very worried about the new variant. Studies by very clever scientists with big graphs have shown it is completely resistant to the vaccine. You still have to have the old vaccine to prevent against the old variant, but you can't go out of lockdown because you might still catch and spread the new variant.
Hurrah! A new vaccine has been announced for the new variant! It will be here in about 12-24 months, so until then, we are announcing a special tier 4 for the whole country...

etc

So there is no new variant

I think that's very likely, yes.

This 'new variant' will probably be the Denmark strain, which isn't that new and which has been around long enough for the disease specialists to have worked out the core characteristics (and whether it is resistant to the vaccines).

But all they give us is 'new variant' and keep us guessing the rest.

The lawbreakers are ignoring the law so don't need to riot about it.

I reckon you could still get drugs or a handgun, even if the gyms close.

Aren't all "places of worship " shut? Stiill, if you get ill, you are usually near a cemetary.

One thing you can can't fault the Muzzers for is not kowtowing to this bullshit.

They won't have any nonsense like licences for livestreaming services!

https://www.churchofengland.org/resources/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-churches

Quote

CCLI introduced a streaming licence in mid-March 2020. It is available to any church which holds a CCLI Church Copyright Licence, which the majority of Church of England churches do. For many churches, this licence will cover them for their streaming activity:

Good luck with that, unless they are also going to ban fruit, water, sugar, yeast and one-gallon containers.

Happy Fucking New Year from the rail unions and rail industry, you cunts.

Rail fares will rise more than expected next year - although the new inflation-busting 2.6% increase is being delayed until 1 March.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55323345

Now that we know that most rail commuters can work from homes, it time they sacked everyone working in rail and got them to reapply for their jobs half the money.

So, you live in Brighton and your office is in London but you can work from home. £5109 for an annual season ticket?

I'd be negotiating a deal with the boss to work from home all the time. Even if you drop your salary by £5k you're still better off in every way.
