Speak English or die.

Quite amazing really how valuable our language has become. Imagine that two armies in arse-end-stan are using it to shout at each other.

It's a pity that England didn't have some way to license the use of the English language - we would would all be rich now.

I work with a Brazilian guy whose English is better than mine.

His name is Pedro - but even if it wasn't I'd still refer to the cunt as such behind his back...

Well.... how come 2 random ethnics 1000s of miles away manage to communicate in English yet the NHS spends 20m.

They communicate in American which is a global language.

Hence the use of words like "gotten"

Obviously the Chinese could not understand that the Indians were helping them check their broadband router by pressing the Windows key.

Now both sides have agreed not to be armed when arguing on the border.

Instead both sides resort to throwing stones and actually punching it out.

Its like multi-national British bulldogs!

I've taught English on the continent and a lot of people there want to learn what they call 'British English' rather than American English.

I take great pleasure in informing them there is no such thing as 'British English', only Standard English or the Queen's English and that that is the only correct form; all others are bastardisations.

English is only part of communicating. There's body language, tone, speed, and volume. I don't really know what they are going on about, but the Chinese guy seems a bit aggressive. The young Communist Chinese army hasn't had to fight a war in recent years, so I guess they are looking for some action soon. Until they see their fellow comrades blown to bits, killed and maimed, he won't be so up for looking for a fight for "King and Country".
