Here in Essex we have the highest concentration of tanning equipment in the Country - Indoor social environments are going to be fitted out with these - protective goggle mandatory.

Will TOWIE be the only programme allowed to be made and broadcast on the telly on the basis the cast is immune?

So - update from Australia time.

After much initial success, the politicians, especially the communists in Victoria, have somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.  Big daily jumps the last week in Victoria, and rumbles in NSW as well.

So how have they fucked it up:

  1. Allowing the BLM protest without censure.  Some organisers were fined, but the nod was given for tens of thousands of hippy scum to get trains and trams to CBDs and then mingle.  This did two things: 1) create millions of potential infection vectors that would not have otherwise existed and 2) made everyone who wasn't a BLM drone suddenly think 'fuck this - I haven't seen my grandkids in 3 months, I couldn't go to my mate funeral, but these cunts get the free pass?
  2. Security controls in the quarantine hotels were organised on the hop, and in some states were outsourced to private contractors who it now appears treated it the same as policing a large festival, including fucking some of the bored guests.  Seriously.
  3. Ethnics.  the big burp in Melbourne was linked to an Eid family gathering.  Rather than fine the family, the local communists have decided that it was the fault of the health authorities not engaging with the community.  Once again, this made everyone else go 'get fucked, free pass for non-english speakers now is it?"
  4. The deputy chief medical officer in Victoria tweeted an anti-Cook tweet, basically comparing him to COVID and plague.  Made everyone normal think 'what the fuck you dopey cunt.  focus on the pandemic, not your anti-white racism'.  Eroded further the authority of the medical guidelines in Vic

So in short, items 1, 3, and 4, were IDEOLOGICAL FAILURES of the new left (who are in power in Vic).  Item 2 is a failure of management, could be pollies but more probably the state civil service.

It's a shame as I know people working in the actual front line medical stuff here and they are bloody stressed and working hard to stop it.

Understand all that. But what I don't understand is why people don't think

"Fuck that stupid behaviour, I'm not behaving like them."

rather than think "Fuck this, I'm going to behave stupidly too."

If that's what your saying in 1,3, and 4

I'm sure we'll see a similar phenomenon in England as well.

We're doomed

Good point.  I think it is human nature to want 'fairness' and when that is visibly not applied, to push back and reverse the situation even if it is not in your long term best interests

So people were willing for short term pain for long term benefits, but now the pollies have highlighted the unfairness, have pushed back.  Example: plenty of my contacts are very pissed that they haven't been able to see a footie game live all season.  The protestors were, in their eyes, a social event that was allowed by the premier in Victoria because it was his 'team'.  These contacts now do things like go round each others houses for a barbie, as a way of saying fuck you to the premier.

It’s actually directly inherited from our chimp forebears/cousins. They’ll co-operate while they perceive “fairness” is being applied, and withdraw co-operation when they feel it isn’t. Something politicians would do well to remember.

Especially in Oz where the humans have evolved a bit less......    :P

Disagree, strongly

We need to get to herd immunity ASAP before we destroy the economy

This 'virus' doesn't have a CFR of 25%

However, carrying on with lock-downs could kill 75% of the population if the whole economy & society breaks down as a result of a hyperinflationary, lawless, melt-down

We're doomed if we stick with lock-downs

Yep, I agree.

The virus could see a raisiing in the population's IQ

Disease gets rid of the weak and the ill-adapted

I agree we need to get to herd immunity ASAP because of the economic consequences of not doing so, and the psychological consequneces upon children in particular, but we need to achive it in a thoughful way, not a chaotic way. Via a lockdown the vulnerable, I'd suggest.

I doubt the people saying "Fuck this" were thinking "Fuck this, I'll help the country reach herd immunity".

So, the "fuck this" response is an odd one from a individual's perspective. To get essential provisions, I could unserstand, but for footy or a beer - odd.

This isn't about football or beer

It's about avoiding complete economic collapse

Millions will starve - in the UK

It's probably already too late

I don't think that this was a mistake - there's been far too many 'errors', which all point in the same direction towards creating economic collapse & depopulation

But very few of those rushing to the pub this weekend will be doing so Thinking "Fuck this, I'm going for a beer to prevent economic collapse".

If they were worried about the pub finances but concerend about the virus they could just send in a cash donation equivalent to their spend.

A stupid suggestion but it makes the point that the general public don't care about the virus.

But I bet the same pub goers would be among the first to worry if the NHS scenes were like Italy.

I don't subscribe to this being a conspiracy although I do think it has a lab origin. Once virus had escaped, our population density, global politics and way of life is facilitatve of its transmission.

When historians look back they may take the vew that 21st C human existence was an accident waiting to happen and they may wonder why society drove into the accident headlong.

Mirror Mirror

I think if you’re part of a team, working hard yourself but you’re aware of others who aren’t pulling their weight, it rankles. You have three options, turn a blind eye, appeal to the captain to sort out the slackers or say, “fuck it, I’ll go for the easy option too”.

Traditionally options 1 or 2 would probably be the way forward, but we have seen so many examples of late in our societies of unequal treatment, one law for some and special laws for others, and we have learnt that appeals to the team captain fall on deaf ears.

Doing option 1 makes me feel like a mug so all that’s left is no 3.

I personally decided I wasn’t going to play ball when the UK government decided that fruit pickers were a special case, and at the same time as millions were being paid 80% to sit at home.

If that had not been the straw that broke this particular camels back, then the appeasement of the BLM protests certainly would have been.

But do you put yourself in harms way ?

None of the protests have worried me and made me think "Fuck this, I'm going to a mass gathering"

I guess it's because mass Gatherings are not someting I yearn for, so it's difficult o put myself in their shoes

Similar to someone that doesn't understand mountaineering or coarse fishing or goflf appreciatng someone else's passion I would imagine.

I’m also not really interested in mass gatherings so no, not been to any.

I don’t think I’ve put myself in harms way though even though I’ve stuck 2 fingers up at most of the rules. I’ve been to restaurants, used public transport, been to shops etc but taken sensible precautions, ie kept my distance from others, been good about touching face, disinfected hands.

Ive even committed the new cardinal sin of going to the beach; you know why? Because it was warm and sunny and I felt like it.

However if I’ve felt like leaving the house more than once a day, I’ve done so and not given it a second thought. If I felt like visiting a neighbouring beauty spot, likewise. Ignoring stupid, made up on the hoof bullshit rules about how many people I may meet from whatever number of households - couldn’t give a fuck. Sorry, but we’re either “all in this together“ -including politicians with second homes, and ministerial advisors - or we’re not, and clearly we’re not.

I expect if the plebs on FB etc knew my attitude they would look in me with scorn, but these are the same idiots who are happy to grab the handrails in the bus, then check their mobile phone, think that wearing the same pair of gloves for hours gives them some sort of immunity, happy to denounce someone walking their dog in the middle of nowhere yet have no problem typing their pin no into a card reader with their bare finger, scorning those people who dare to go to the beach yet all the while blissfully ignorant of the benefits of vitamin D and the disinfectant properties of sunlight and salt water, cheering the lockdown while being totally blast to the secondary effects in terms of economic damage and damage to physical and mental health.

Also, it's seasonal apparently. So Australia would have been going up now regardless.

But in the eyes of the human haters it has to be because "people are stupid durr".

It`s looking like not a lot of people are developing antibodies and the ones that are seem to be the ones least effected by the virus

The reason why plebs might, or might not, choose to go to the pub on Saturday is irrelevant.

The only issue is that the lock-down needs to end

If this lock-down drags on any longer we'll be looking at the collapse of society & the economy

Millions will die from a mixture of cold, hunger and violence caused by society breaking-down.

Rock and a hard place then

Short term vs long term pain

Deaths both ways.

I doubt the plebs are prepared for either
