Ok, that’s the way wokeism works, it fucks everything up and is corrupt, but surely this should be fairly easily squashed anyway?

With the advantages of the climate and a lowish population density, a lockdown of a few weeks will stop it pronto. Rather like in NZ, the question will then be “now what?”  Two week quarantine on all visitors for ever? I’d guess Oz could afford it longer than most, with the low national debt. But they could also do like Sweden and show the world this fuckwittery is unnecessary.

Latest indications are that Sweden has not benefited materially from its approach. Its economic downturn has been as big if not bigger than its neighbours and it has to bear the cost of more coronavirus cases and fatalities. It currently has more coronavirus restrictions than Norway or Denmark. It still looks good compared to the U.K. but then it would take real effort to fuck things up as much as the British government who clearly wanted the worst of all worlds.

Let's just say that :-

1. I don't believe many media pieces on the subject of Sweden.

2. It's a long race. If some herd immunity is possible, they're closer to it than most.

The Swedish economy seems to have shrunk 4.5% so far this year which is better than the U.K. but not Denmark or Norway who are probably better comparisons. So thus far they have not achieved anything.

Msn talking about Sweden?  Pass thanks.

PS:  Beginning to like Denmark.  Early border lock down.  No nonsense.  No Euro.

Victorian health authorities have confirmed a link between two COVID-19 cases in people who attended the Black Lives Matter protest in Melbourne’s CBD just over a month ago, and the cluster of at least 242 cases in public housing towers in the city’s inner northwest.

Posting here so the next time someone you know goes on about BLM protests not creating infection risks, you can smack them with the facts.  The new lockdown in Melbourne and the impact on millions of peoples mental health and wealth is directly down to the CUNTS and their braindead virtue signalling.

Bonus points for predicting which communities will be most affected by lockdowns and being couped up in inner city areas.

As for this, well, dare not  even go there.

Todays update for Victoria: "160 cases have been linked to Al-Taqwa College

51 cases have been linked to Somerville Retail Services in Tottenham"

So after the muslim school, the next highest cluster is a third of the size.

It's almost as if diversity fucks the host society in the arse.

Just put the TV on and it came on BT Sport (from watching Man Utd last night). Showing live Australian Rules football, Essendon, Melbourne. Ground full of (socially spaced) fans! I think somebody might be pulling our chains.

watch it!  Aussie rules is an awesome game, you'll be amazed at how far they run.  Apparently aussie rules players at the top level are the fittest athletes across all ball sports due to the distance and length of time spent in each game.  Plus they have to know how to punch.  Oh, and they can run up an opponents back to catch the ball.

When the yanks saw the game during lockdown and saw how physical it was without any padding, they went crazy for it...

It's a lot more athletic than when I used to watch it as a kid on the old trans world sports in the 80s, Jesus it was brutal back then! I lived in in Adelaide for a while, I went to a couple of port power games but I couldn't really get into it despite it being treated like a religion around those parts.

OK - time for a summary of the massive cock up in Victoria, thanks to - you guessed it - a 'socialist', 'left wing' government (they are not socialist and not left wing in my book).  Woke government though.

We had the deputy head of the health dept tweeting in the middle of the pandemic how Captain Cook was horrible and bad and racist.  That gives you an insight into their abilities.  If I was in a machine and our task was to stop people dying, I'd be spending 23 hours a day thinking about my work, not woke rubbish.

We are now in the position of these stats:

199 new cases in Australia today, of which 191 were in Victoria.  Several states are completely free of cases (and have closed borders). 75 of the recent cases in Melbourne linked to a small number of public housing towers stuffed with asylum seekers and druggies.  Melbourne locked down back to the controls in March, and a specific estate even more locked down with no one allowed to leave their home at all.

How did we get here?  The usual story of a 'woke' authority ignoring reality and playing favourites with their special interest groups.  The Premier in Victoria is Chairman Dan, who, by the way, signed a secret deal with China as part of the belt and road plan despite being warned by the federal government it wasn't a good idea.  I'd call that near to treason.  It only came out due to leaks, and well after the last state elections.

  • When the other states had BLM protests, several went to the courts to gain injunctions to stop of restrict them on health grounds.  courts overturned many, but the message was clear.  Other states also fined protestors and organisers.  Dan likes BLM, so he asked politely for people not to go (with a wink) and has fined three people.  Out of 10,000.  We know of at least 4 COV19 infected people that went on the march.
  • There was an outbreak at Cedar Meats processing plant.  Cedar Meats has a long history with Labor (donations) and union support.  The government did no actions and took on face value promises by Cedar Meats that no one ill was working after diagnosis.  Guess what?  Yup, infections rocketed.  Oh, and that only came out due to leaks - the state government would not name the company, despite naming others, until it was leaked
  • A large family gathering to mark the end of Ramavan infected dozens.  No fines, no actions, government said it was a language issue.  Meanwhile, they issued fined to people surfing, people in the car with their parents doing driving lessons (no contact with others), etc.
  • Other states accepted help from the federal gvt and used army and police for quarantine hotel security.  Dan's party doesn't like the army - nasty white men with guns - so they outsourced to private security firms, didn't train them or put requirements in place, and so everyone fucked about and got infected.  Oh, and the security firms also rorted the money in some cases.  No oversight by the state gvt, see.
  • Dan the man paid KPMG millions to help with the COV19 plan.  Whilst normal victorians were being sacked, he was shovelling millions into KMPG for - no one knows exactly what.  I wonder what job he was after post office?
  • The lockdown of the towers in Melbourne has highlighted, that just like Grenfell, Australia has thousands of fucking useless immigrants living in one of the most desireable cities in the world.  and BOY are they complaining now about treatment.  10,000 people refused to get tested when asked (door to door testing), many from multi-cultural communities in Melbourne. Well, fuckem is my view, and of many others I speak to here.  They are being given free food and medicine (including drugs for druggies).  As usual, multiculturalism is a weakness, not a strength, in a society challenged by events like this, and Dan the commie refuses to acknowledge this.

in short, he's a dead man walking politically.  next election is in 2022, but I hope he goes before then

Fascinating insight wherebee. Thanks for pointing me here.Just as a footnote using worldometer figures, the IFR is below 0.01%-assuming (as is extrmemely likely ) there are many asymptomatic infections, past and present.

There are lots of complicating factors. Not limited to but inclduing

1) Health wise, reduced mental health problems-particualrly depression which can adversely affect lives long term, also maintaining cancer testing regime, elective surgeries etc etc.

2) economically, their main trading partners are in the EU,so a less severe outcome is pretty good going.

It was interesing to see how Anders Tergnell was reported in the MSM when he reflected on what had gone right/wrong with Sweden's response-reflective practice is core to good clinical practice. He was widely reported in the MSM as saying Sweden had got it wrong which was not what he saying at all.

It's not a biological problem at all. It's an informational one, caused by too many TV channels, and Social Media twonks. If it weren't for these, I wouldn't have noticed this "pandemic".

Things is, and I've said this before.

When I started work down south in the early 90s I got to know a lot of Aussies n kiwi. Wed go out for beer and some pass a mozzer or jimjam muzzer (we never saw a full on binbags, which I only started seeing in the late 90s) and they go - Who the fuck are those?

And these were mainly people from the big urban areas, not some sheep farm in middle of nowhere.

Never seen a muzzers.

Fast forward 25 years n they are stabbing, spread desease etcetc.

NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has urged people not to attend a Black Lives Matter protest in Sydney planned for next week, as the state’s coronavirus numbers continue to climb.

More than 4,000 people have expressed their interest in attending the event on Facebook. Mr Fuller said protest organisers have lodged a formal application, but NSW Police will be taking the matter to the Supreme Court.

NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has warned people not to attend next weeks’s BLM protest. NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has warned people not to attend next weeks’s BLM protest.

“Relying on some pretty good intelligence from Victoria, we know how dangerous these protests can be, in terms of health,” he told 2GB radio on Monday morning.

“At the moment, you just can’t take chances.”

Mr Fuller said the police would be able to fine people under the current health orders.

“If the numbers get above what is lawful at that time, then we can start writing tickets. That is the instruction I’ll be giving to police in relation to that matter.”

Note the difference in approach from Victoria.  Clear message that attendees could be fined and have personal consequences.  That said, the BLM supporters are not the brightest tools in the shed, so I expect some to still go.
