LV= circling pan - Are we seeing the last bit of UK life sector die?

IMPO the UK life sector should have shrunk back to small mutuals in 1985ish, when the tax treatment of life contributions was changed.

Instead the sector went nuts on commission based sales of mortgages and pensions,. The outcome of that is well known.

There are very few pure  mutual lie companies.

Liverpool Victoria being one.

However, LV sold off its general insurance a couple of years ago.

Now its looking to sell whats left to anyone. Seems to be in a bit of a rush.

Remember when that building used to be Frizzel house? It was always a landmark for me as a kid on the way to the seaside!
