Swindon - Trucker with a gun shot by Police

I travelled to Swindon from Darlington on New Year's Day 1995 to watch Sunderland play, only for the game to be called off 20 minutes before kick off.

I've been strangely ambivalent about the place ever since, even if the guy in the shop across from the County Ground did give me a free packet of Quavers.

Under a blood red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspapers says, says
Say it's true, it's true, the fucking game's off

I bought a car in Swindon in 2007. I don't listen to the radio. I turned it on by mistake last year and noticed that it is still tuned to Radio Swindon. Wondering how I can make money writing that story up as some clickbait like "You'll never believe what happened with the radio in this car!"

Well, from what I read, bloke was shot in the leg, not killed, as previously reported. One of the hazards of being an armed robber I guess.

It's not like war movies where he bravely screws up his face and goes "don't worry about me lieutenant I can still complete the mission." Being shot in the leg can easily kill you.

I've been to Swindon twice.

It doesn't grow on you. If it does, itll be more like a tumour.
