Sainsbury's again yesterday. 50/50 on the masks. Best ratio yet. Slowly getting better.

B&Q about 50/50 with customers and about 70/30 in favour of unmasked staff. Maskoids do seem to be slowly disappearing. A new member of my sports club turned up the other day and was masked for about two minutes until, presumably, he saw nobody else  bothering and took it off. A man came in masked to collect his wife later and really looked odd amongst the 40 or so unmasked people in there. Tipping point near, folks!

Hope so, but one gets the feeling the government is going to start mandating again.

What do people think, will everyone just dutifully mask up again, or will there be more people prepared to say, “fuck this”, or rather, “I’m exempt”?

For clarity, I don’t mean dosboddians, rather the general public.

I think most will comply. It does depend on how well the governmediament can do the fear-porn though. Just like actual porn there's a tendency to become desensitised and new types of stimulus are required for the same effect. They might  be able to do this by blaming child  vax-deaths on Covid, for example.

They’ll want to mandate them again, but they’ll need to approach it differently.

Now that office workers are back in the office, they’ll not be mandating it in work places as no chance the middle class office workers will be sat in masks for 8 hours plus any commute.  So either we’ll get wfh mandates again first, which may be difficult as businesses want people back and more wfh causes a problem with the desire for no jab / no job mandates with the corporates

What I suspect will see is, advisory for some but with more pressure applied in hospitality and on public transport.

It'll be stranger danger.  Mask up.

Good point. A lot of the effort in lockdowns has been about keeping the banana-bread-baking WFH middle class crowd happy in their cosy crisis.

FIL who has spent the last 18 months pretty much inside his house, is now out and about doing the shopping. He was one who was shielding and is very nervous about anyone.  Not allowed in their house at all.

He noticed in one supermarket that there were maybe 15 people without masks.  So phoned the manager to complain (he does this sort of thing) and was told 'Yes, it's terrible, and we have to work here but what can we do'.

Hope he doesn't spot his favourite SIL out shopping otherwise he'll be demoted to attempted murderer status.

A few weeks ago every oldie, and I mean all of them, in my village (E. Anglia) were always masked, everywhere, indoors, and most of them outside too. Now I estimate about 1/3 of them are free-face indoors and you hardly see any outdoor maskoids now.

I bet a lot of those people from the sports club wear masks in shops. Especially supermarkets. They've been trained to do it. The sports club is a different place and so they feel able to apply different rules.

I was up that London yesterday. We didn't wear a mask on the train. Probably 50/50 for other passengers. Despite warning posters on the tube and DLR, I would estimate 30% mask less. Constant announcements about reporting suspicious behaviour and unattended bags, nothing about covid.

Business as usual in pubs and restaurants. Quite refreshing!

IT consultant, 55, sues police who arrested and 'strip searched' her when she refused to wear a mask in Waitrose because she was exempt

Police would surely settle out of court.

Bunged her a few quid in case they don't.

Here's where – and why – San Francisco Marathon runners will need to wear masks

Runners in this weekend's San Francisco Marathon will need to carry some additional weight, or else they risk having lighter pockets afterward.

Participants in four races must wear masks on some portions of the course, race officials announced in updates to the race's health protocols over the last two weeks. Stretches of Sunday's marathon, half marathon and 10K races, as well as all of Saturday's 5K, are in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area run by the National Park Service, and the agency announced last month masks are required indoors and in "crowded outdoor spaces" on park property amid the COVID-19 delta variant's nationwide spread.

Runners who don't wear masks could be fined by the National Park Service or face disqualification, race officials said. The National Park Service has said visitors who violate the mask requirement on its properties "may be subject to citations as appropriate."

This is going to be worth watching.

Might be even more exciting than the first corner in F1.

When the lads had to do School Military Parade in the heat of summer, we would all be inwardly betting on which kids would faint from the heat. A bit cruel, but it passed the time.

The Masked Tulip

People in California vote for these people who then force mandates upon them whilst ignoring them themselves. The US has fallen.

It’s almost as stupid as wearing a mask on a fairground ride:

This is fairly normal in Muzzie culture.

In this instance I agree with them. I fully endorse that course of action when encountering any daft cunt wearing a mask.

I'm currently on a mini break in Devon/Cornwall. Not many diaper-faced spazzies to be honest, just the 3F demographic (Frail, Fat and Fick). You only see these in the vicinity of shops and even then they only seem to constitute about 3 or 4 % of "people". I put the word people in quotes because I don't consider these things to be human.

"Nice Gob Swastika, mate" I said to one of them earlier, as I passed it on the street. Didn't get a reaction....was quite disappointed to be honest. Never mind....hopefully it was "thinking about it". You never know.

Weather is shit by the way. Monday is supposed to be hot and sunny though. Fingers crossed.

Anyway, I'm going to win the £16M JP tonight so WTF do I care?!
