I'm looking up at the stars at the moment. I can see Cygnus clearly overhead, yet every few seconds, the sky flashes white. It's intracloud lighning, because there is no noise, but I can't really see any clouds to speak of!

Just as the title says, it's been stormy here in Edinburgh for the last hour roughly, lightning every second/couple of seconds.

Weird, not sure if I've ever seen anything like it.

WTF!?

@ccc, are you seeing this or am I tripping?

It's nuts. Never seen it like this in the UK. Sheet lightning I think.
