Apple stock hits $2 trillion market capitalization

Apple's $2 trillion market capitalization is so big that it's now worth almost as much as the entire UK stock market

* Apple's stock price has ballooned so much in recent weeks that it is on track to be worth more than the entirety of the UK's benchmark share index, the FTSE 100.

* The tech giant became the first US-listed company to reach the $2 trillion mark this week.

* According to data from Bloomberg, the FTSE is worth just shy of $2.2 trillion.

* If Apple's stock rises 7%, it will surpass the FTSE in market capitalization.

It is a ‘new paradigm’ - ‘dontchaknow‘ !

This stock (and the other FAAAT ones!) can keep on returning 5% a day - ad Infinitum....!

When this baby ‘blows’ it could rival the ‘dotcom’ bust of March 2000 - the FAAATs could take the whole market, and all the other indices... everything with them ...  But eh?...... ‘it’s different this time’!.......

42 years for the first trillion, just the last 21 weeks for the second trillion (while covid is decimating stuff)

I wonder what happened 21 weeks ago.

The Fed printed trillions of dollars.

UK public sector debt is now over £2Tn, with a dramatic increase starting about 20 weeks ago.
Is it coincidence or have the funds been used to buy Apple products ?? ;)

  • 2 weeks later...
A tremendous # on the lung

What is the impact on the US economy / currency etc. of having these huge companies? Does the money somehow trickle down and help the average Joe? Or is it only really beneficial for shareholders / workforce etc?

What would the UK get if it had a couple of technology giants of its own?

In effect, these are global companies right?

the amount of money in silicon valley being handed out is truely mind blowing.  I know of one person who flies a cleaner down in their helicopter to clean their fish tank.  which is basically a shark tank.  in their house.

it's mental.

They are borrowing money @ 1% to buy back there own stock increasing price per share..

Its corruption..

Are they selling more stuff?

Or just manipulating their share price?

Latter is the main reason..
