Antifa is one of those actually inspired activist groups.

See, fascists are absolutely bad, so being anti-fascists is obvious.  

Obviously we can see that the people that they're against is mainly just 'anyone who we think doesn't align with us', but for some reason the media keeps on calling them antifa.

They should call them the left-wing extremists, just as anyone right of the UK liberals is now called the extreme right-wing.

Interesting that back then, most Germans didn't side with the Nazi party and indeed Antifa/KPD had more support. Wonder if history will repeat itself, I don't see why not.

Quite. Once the general population became aware of the reality of what they were faced with in the KPD - literally revolutionary communists with bands of violent thugs to attack political opponents, anyone who was not also explicitly a communist (normal people) joined the only explicitly anti-communist party - NSDAP
