I look at lots of online Small Ads. It's amazing how many people are incapable of describing their items clearly and sensibly. Why advertise shoes and not state the size? etc.

Anyway I found this:

Quote
Transit van driver seat
£30
Details
Transit van driver seat. Its been used so does have some Mark's on it

Marks's what?

Or maybe the apostrophe is superfluous and there are lots of people called Mark sitting on it.   (I love the way that the apostrophe in "It's" is missing.)

I asked the seller. He just said fuck off, which is an interesting way to sell something.

To be fair to the buyer, he probably (correctly) assessed that you weren't actually interested in Mark's Transit seat.

You'd have got a better response if you'd asked what year it was from (why would this be omitted?)

So it's stolen then.

Don't know what snap on but pretty dodge when you have to introduce the item as unstolen , as if that's a feature or bonus.

If snap on is like cash converters I used to live in a city where there was a local similar pawn type shop.  Bought a load of stuff over a few years from there including a very cheap but almost new specialized mountain bike.

Anyway would assume more than half the stuff I picked up was stolen considering the crime level and locality.  The shop was called iirc "buy it sell it".... But seemed to be well known as "steal it, sell it, buy it, smack it"

That reminds me of the DVD recorder I bought online. It was from the European part of Currys / Dixons so was being shipped from France.

I'd used the office as the delivery address as that was most convenient.

Eventually I found out that it would be delivered on Saturday so I wandered into my office to wait for it. I found a note posted through the letter box saying that they had left it with a neighbouring business.

My heart sank when I saw that the business was the pawn shop across the road, which had a reputation for hawking stolen goods.

And yes, I needn't have worried on this occasion.

Could have been worse, could have been a porn shop.
