These are people joining up for the same motives they always have had; they're not SJWs. Back in the day when I was big fan of The Bill it even crossed my mind. I don't think I'd have lasted long

I wonder if search procedures have been dumbed down to avoid causing 'offence' Perhaps another officer murdered by political correctness?

The officer was shot by a man who was being detained at the Croydon Custody Centre in Windmill Lane at about 2.15am on Friday morning. Officers and paramedics treated him at the scene and he was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. But the officer later died in hospital.

The 23-year-old suspect was detained by officers at the scene.

He is believed to have been booked in for possession of ammunition at around 2am.

The suspect was also taken to hospital with a gunshot wound and remains in a critical condition, the Met said.

He is understood to have turned the gun on himself after shooting the officer.

This is very sad.  Is it the world going mad or just a single bad-un?   doesn't matter, he's still dead.

But, that said, I do hope that it hasn't happened because the police have had to show restraint in their procedures because of -ism.

I expect covid has also altered their procedures.

The brazen mentality here is one issue. This fecker thought nothing of murdering a police office inside a police station. Was it planned?

Mentality is probably the key word.

He committed suicide and decided to "take one of the f**kers with me"

Except the suicide bit didn't quite work out.

He must have been in quite a mental state.

One down, I am not unhappy with that.

These are the people that will happily follow government rules and turn this country into a prison. (or have done so) They police politically and will destroy your life for having a different view

Frankly fuck em

Always blame the generals, not the foot-soldiers.

Back in the day when I was big fan of The Bill it even crossed my mind. I don't think I'd have lasted long.

A colleague who left his IT job to join up lasted a year because of the unacceptable level of risk that he was facing through on the floor levels of active patrols.  Turn up to a pub fight and it's you and a WPC against twenty blokes.  He had a young child and decided that whilst his IT job was dull it didn't carry with it a high risk of death or serious injury and he wanted to see his child grow up.

The political ones are the top brass like Cressida Dick.  They are the enemy of the people; not plod in their patrol car.

I agree my dad and brother are police officers. Sadly though they never question anything if the gov says it is illegal then it is illegal no ability to thing critically.

How you make good people do bad things is telling them it is for the good of others.

If they stopped and questioned or took a stand against the politicians in thier ranks then your right, but they are all to scared and focused on the pension

Surprised the so called let this through

"Asked about how someone could enter the building while armed, former Det Ch Insp Chris Phillips said: "I think police officers are probably less likely to search people now with all the furore that goes on."

What this actually means is they don't search black people as they get accused of being racist if they do. So what this means is that this officer has literally paid the ultimate price for political correctness.

Which is pretty fucking shit really.

Risk assessments are there for a reason.

Risk assessment has to include making sure the person has nothing on them that can harm themselves or others.
