So, I've been doing the sums and if we continue to be locked down like we are for the next 6 months, I can put at least a grand away somewhere each month. Will actually be more, but let's call it a round grand for arguments sake.

I cursed Premium Bonds a couple of weeks ago so you might not want to tell me the best place for it. I'm somewhat risk averse, but I'm willing to test the waters.

I already have £10k+ in savings so would be looking to put that somewhere too. I might even go down the route of playing it safe with £500 each month and risking £500 a month.

Any recommendations other than whacking it all on the dogs?

I should add that I have zero debts so its not a case of paying anything off first.

I'm putting £1k a month into the stock market.

Oil shares are looking pretty cheap at the moment. This month though I bought Berkshire Hathaway.

Stick it in an ISA and there's no tax. Or stick it in a SIPP and get tax relief, at the cost of locking the money up until your late 50's (a big issue if you're 20, but less of a problem if you're already old).

Open up the stocks and shares ISA if not already done. GDXJ is a low maintenance play for exposure to gold mining (juniors) low maintenance and, over the medium term, a lower risk option.

Maybe a trip to Las Vegas? I hear those slot machines are a sure fire winner!

GDXJ low risk? You'd probably feel a bit differently about that if you'd bought a big chunk in 2011.

xD

But we are in a very different environment to that of 2011. A few years of this ETF is a reasonably safe bet (though nothing is ever certain - if you want certainty then that is what your bank account is for!)

I went to Vegas, I spent a week playing black jack and craps and left with more cash than I arrived with( after paying for motel 7 and food and booze) . It can be done!
