I like when they're still going: touring and making records.

I was watching some random video focusing on a particular guitar player and wondered who was the old guy singing.

I looked in the link and it was Peter Gabriel.  Fair play to him.

Maybe it's because most of us grew up with bands that imploded or rock stars that died at 27 so that the expected life for a top band (Nirvana, The Doors, Jimi Hendirix Experience, Sweet, Guns and Roses) was about three to five years rather than those who are currently still going after fifty years. 

I for one love that Fairport Convention, formed 1967, is still going and touring.

All of them have been in the band for over twenty years with one original member - Simon Nicol - and one near-original member - Dave Pegg.
