VPN over ethernet

Question

To access some things in the UK I need to connect via my UK VPN.

This works every time if I use the PC's wireless connection and then connect to the VPN.

It never works when I'm connected to ethernet then connect to the same VPN.

The same IP address is being presented as confirmed by e.g. whatsmyip.

Does anyone have any idea why..

Disable IPv6 on your device and try again.

At first I thought you were trying to connect to your own VPN, but actually it sounds like your connecting to a network (which is your own?) in order to access a VPN service provider, to access content in the UK?

Is your actual internet connection via cable, land line or is it mobile data?

VPN kill switch might have screwed something up, worth checking "view network connections" and IPV4 settings are "ok".

Without the VPN running, do this for one connection type then the other, open a CMD window, type "ipconfig", check that the details listed are the same for each connection type, really any one of those 5 things could screw you up.
