Serious shortage of chicken breasts on tonight's Tesco delivery order.

Got them with good dates on but they were right at the back of the bottom shelf of the refridgerator cabinet tucked out of casual sight.

I get little jars of chicken paste for the collie (don't ask).

Gone up from 25p to 35p.

Noticed other stuff up 25% on last year.

It is really kicking off now.

Should I add that to the notes so the picking bloke knows where to look?

The Grey Man

The shelves have been sparse of meat in general from December.

Fruit and veg varied

Morrisons have a load of butternut squash. Didnt look at origin...first time. I have seen them early January in any quantity....filling up gaps?

I've just informed Mrs Chewy we are running out of lubrication, non is available of the internet and if Morrison’s don't have any we may have to resort to margarine.

Shopping today, lots of things missing.

Almost out of eggs and no brocolli.

out of eggs? a few days ago (I think it was BBC) were saying chickens may be culled due to lack of demand for eggs.

edit: yes, here it is ... Covid-19: Fordingbridge farm chickens risk cull over egg demand - BBC News

my guess is the problem is a lack of cheap east EU drivers to move goods inside the UK rather than lack of supply.

Worse still, there is a Fizzy Pop shortage in France.

I had the last Tango in Paris.

Sounds like you get tired easily, you should see Dr. Pepper. Or have you been smoking TABs?

Not continue the joke? How would I get all my Top-Deck puns out?

Hopefully they'll also replace that green puke with some gold-top, so that everyone gets some proper milk - and none of that green, red or orange filth that comes direct from the tit of Satan.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen gold top..  was that a Jonnie Walker special edition?

It's hidden away in such unlikely places as the milk fridge in every supermarket in the entire fucking country.

You disappoint XYY..   I thought you were going to regale us with stories of when you used to be a milkman

I can only comment on Costco..   but I've not seen any shortages of anything,

The worst evidence I found of any supply chain issues were some extremely ropey looking limes (actually sat on the crates with mould on).

I picked up 5 dozen eggs no problem.

That's a big omelet.

No shortages here.

That'll last us a few weeks..     I'm trying to avoid shopping as far as possible,  especially in the big four.

We've been doing Keto since November so eggs are a bit of a staple for us.

Yes, I think eggs are eggcellent.  There's no shortage at the moment. In fact there may be a surplus, as the restaurants and school caterers are not buying.

There's a boarding house round the corner from here which normally seems to house a lot of white van men. Seems very quiet at the moment.

Frank Hovis

I have seen absolutely zero shortages at Lidl or Aldi.

I would say that that is because of their effective business model of carrying only a limited range which makes it easier to focus upon sourcing and restocking that.

For example they have one type of soda water, one brown sauce etc.

The other supermarkets trying to get a full range of brands are going to mismatch supply at times until the transport settles down.

It is however hardly the chaos that the pearl clutchers were predicting if you all it means is that you can't get your Dr Otken pizza this week.

Will Self is a junkie twat.
