Doom and gloom mongers, has anyone worked out how much we'll save yet?

If, as is my suspicion, coof is taking the sick and elderly are we going to have a post coof boom due to all the savings we will make?

How much does it cost to keep someone in a care home?

In intensive care?

Have the maths nerds on here any opinions?

Not to mention that someone diagnosed early with cancer costs a lot more to treat than someone diagnosed in their final weeks.

And suicides are very low cost financially.

You lost me at post...

It's just my luck that there's a chance that I could become seriously loaded in the next couple of years and cash will become confetti.

Yip, if you have the sort of luck I have the money will hit your bank at 11.59am and at midday they'll freeze everyone's bank accounts and move to something evil, and even more worthless than what we have now!

And extra 10% of the population on Disability because of Long Covid?

Net value of UK people being forced to stay at home, against the influx of tourists from around the world?

Maybe the idea is to "save the NHS" this way ie stop treating people as currently the NHS is a bottomless money-pit which we can no longer afford.

save the NHS by ensuring the residents of the UK are all fit and healthy.

Don't put a plaster on it when it's broke if you can stop it breaking.

Lots of inheritances that people will be getting to spend on property and other assets and not have to use it on care home fees.

Like the boom we see after every moderate/bad Flu season ? as in reality it`s the same cohort sadly  being taken just under a different name
