German medics applaud Russia’s ‘clever’ Sputnik V vaccine

The head of Germany’s vaccine panel has predicted that the “cleverly designed” Sputnik V jab from Russia will be approved for use in the EU.

The vaccine, which is based on similar technology to AstraZeneca’s, was initially given the cold shoulder by many European scientists but a peer-reviewed study has since suggested it can prevent more than 90 per cent of symptomatic infections. Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, has discussed setting up production facilities for Sputnik V in the EU during a phone call with President Putin.

Is there any reason not to trust Putin? I don't know of one but willing to hear.

No surprise that Merkel would side with Putin. Vaccines aside, it is an opportunity for her allegiance to be seen IMPO. I wonder if she contacts him via that 1950's radio transmitter hidden in a suitcase underneath her bed?

The Russian one is the only vaccine I would even consider. And that would still be after 2-3 years.

Also, i believe President Putin hasn't been vaccinated.

Fuck me, what has the world come to?  This is like those conversations in "Extras" where Ricky Gervais asks if you'd rather be attacked by a hungry shark or an angry chimpanzee

When did it all go so wrong?

I imagine that his vaccines will do exactly what they're supposed to (due to his scientists having most knowledge of the virus) as they're probably just a continuation of the original outbreak.
