On Tuesday it got the formal backing of the leaders of Fiji, Portugal, Romania, Britain, Rwanda, Kenya, France, Germany, Greece, Korea, Chile, Costa Rica, Albania, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, the Netherlands, Tunisia, Senegal, Spain, Norway, Serbia, Indonesia, Ukraine and the WHO.

More to follow no doubt.

I'm glad Fiji got included.

Isn't this another example of international quangos, and vested interests claiming to "protect" the world from a non-existent threat, like the bloody climate conferences?

next phase is we're not safe until we're all safe on a global level, madness

I've just seen this phrase and it's chilling. Given that we can never all be safe it's the first indication that this ain't over this summer as Boris is suggesting.

It's foolish to promise a 100% safe world. It doesn't exist.

It's not over 'till it's over.  Question is, what's "it"!

We've had the pandemic.

We'll have another one, sure.  Maybe next year, maybe in 100 years.  There's a bit of sense in making some preparations, but only a little as preparations take time and money.

But why not anyway?  Because there's a world of risk out there and lots of potential things to worry about.  What we'll do now is put too much effort into pandemic diseases and not enough into other tail risks.

It'll end up being a larger scale version of our preparations for pandemic disease in 2019 -- lots of preparation for pandemic flu, no preparation for anything else.

£100 on life in the UK will never return to normal as it was, e.g. masks will be compulsory forever in the UK

There will be new lockdowns in 2021/22

There hasn't even been a 'pandemic' !

It also presupposes that governments have a good handle on how to deal with these things now. The evidence suggests to me that all they have really done is make things (including the case fatality rate) considerably worse.

And they'll have made it even worserer before this is out.

Exactly.

IMO we've actually made our situation far less secure against pandemics than where we were in 2019.

We've now shown how the NHS, dancing, facemasks and everyone being miserable for 12 months can defeat a pandemic!

Yeah!

Except that the next one probably will be deadly, and all the dancing in the world won't make things better.

[essentially, a 'boy who cried wolf' situation]

No doubt involving lots of expenses-paid trips to exotic places for important dignitaries. Like "climate change" conferences, the World Economic Forum, etc. What's not to like?

I've been wondering if they are treating this "pandemic" as a rehearsal for the real thing eg ebola or something else which really is deadly.  If they get us all used to isolation, mask-wearing, hand-washing etc so as to "save the NHS" next time when it really would be overwhelmed if no-one took any precautions.

They've pushed us all to see how far they can go with the propaganda and must be chuckling to themselves as to how easy it is.  They obviously recruited the MSM which has toed the line all the way.

We are probably going to relive what our parents did who witnessed the first use of an atomic bomb and then lived with the knowledge of it in the background all their lives.

I remember thinking as a kid in the 1970s that the nice summer we had might be the last.

If you couldn't put it to the back of your mind it would do your head in.

There's something in a UN document about this. It would be plausible and is one of my several longstanding theories.. More cheerful than some of the other ones floating about.
