Outstanding drummers

Mr J Page made this drummer famous

For added complexity here is a diminutive Japanese rhythm guitarist explaining to a crowd of German rockers the Japanese and German and English terms for some of the styles used by Page's friend Akane.

Ignore the talented violinist. Focus on the drummer who has 104 (at least) changes of time signature to contend with.

Mitch Mitchell who played with Hendrix was very good.

Aynsley Dunbar was pretty decent too.

Love his work and style. Slayer, Grip Inc, Fantomas, Dead Cross, Suicidal Tendencies, Mr Bungle.

Probably in my top 3 gigs ever was Slayer at Rock City in Nottingham in 2010.

Meg White.  I'd guess 0 hours solo practice and she's played the biggest festivals - outstanding!

Count along to Portnoy's drumming. Fun and games for the whole family.

Not much of a Blink 182 fan, but boy can Travis Barker keep a rhythm, simple great drumming with a few tasty fills and a bit of military style snare work.

A bit like Carrie then. No practice and now running the country.

Any sociologists in the house? Why so many female Japanese drummers and a focus on rock/metal? Is it some kind of payback for centuries of geisha-style submissiveness to male domination in a suffocating culture?
