Confused. How long is isolation meant to be?

For most people till you count to 10. For you, till the 12th of Never.

Come on @One percent who has pissed you off by standing too close to you?

I mentioned in another thread that eldest daughter took herself off for a coffee on Saturday and got pinged by the big brother app.  I didn’t realise that she was asked to isolate for five days. I thought it was 14.

Why is she going places where she has to use an app. Boycott those places.

Just say that she doesn’t have the app, fill in the form with false information. Job done. It’s what I do.

Roughly the amount of time it takes me to sit in a Beautiful Pub beer garden getting half cut and eventually walking inside to the bar sans mask to declare "another large malt and a pint of Guiness please".

Yesterdays estimate is approximately 3 hours.

Time can vary.

E&OE.

Quarantine from what - does that affect duration?

Overseas trips to red / yellow / blue / green countries? Coughing on school grounds? Being a known associate of some clown with gov't approved covid app on their phone? Going to a pub where someone later tested positive?

Same answer in each case, advise she leaves her phone at home for the next 2 weeks when she goes out

Must have been wearing an amber dress instead of red, that would have been 10 days.

hapax legomenon

Ghana is on the Amber list so you will need to quarantine for 10 days.

Or use the special DOSBODS approved app.

Sorry, this sounds a bit Captain Hindsight.

2 of my kids are NHS workers. They were told to delete the app.

NHS wouldn't want them off work self isolating if they used it.

Because so many of them were getting pinged at work it was causing staffing issues. No. 1 daughter was working on the covid ward for months. A few of her colleagues accidentally left their phones on in their lockers, and got pinged.

Mirror Mirror

I mean no disrespect to your daughter, or you @One percent, but if someone is silly enough to use the app that warns you if you’ve been in contact with someone who has updated their app to indicate a positive covid status, based on a highly probable false positive test result, then they are probably also silly enough to isolate themselves for 14 days.
