Is it just me..

If I get a notification about a particular post and click on it, it doesn't draw the page at the correct point.

It does scroll the page but not to the right place.

It's as if the Javascript that forces the page to the anchor is executing before the page renders, so although it links to the right point on the page on load, it's immediately moved off the viewport (the visible part) as media content above loads, changing its position.

I think it's more down to quoted long posts being truncated after the page loads rather than subsequent media loading because the forum software, unlike newspapers, has a blank space marker for pictures and video embeds.

So that on here the page compresses upwards as these truncate and you find yourself several posts after the one you were directed to; whereas on newspaper sites they are constantly expanding by loading images and adverts without place markers above you so you end up with the page expanding downwards.

It happens on the other Invision forum I used and it seems to be that you either have quotes truncating and the page moving or you have quotes back in full which was awful because so many people used to quote lengthy posts with multiple pictures in rather than editing them.

The ideal would be no quote truncation being required because posters acquire the self-discipline to always edit down quoted posts to only the relevant section.

They still haven't fixed the bug where posts sometimes don't load if they are going to appear on the next page, the whole page just hangs. This specific bug has been around for over a year now.
