Interesting. Has a reason been offered as to why this is so (if it is - it might just be that deaths are being recorded differently).

Not that I know of. I would guess the following:

1. Northern Irish people on average are spectacularly unhealthy and even more so over the last 18 months due to lockdown.

2. NI NHS is fucked and pretty much non-functional. This fees back into both covid treatment but also the health of the population in general making them more susecptible to covid death and also I'd imagine feeding in to the death rate 'with' covid.

They should never have re-opened those coffee shops so early. They might as well of shot them as they walked in.
