Trumps UN Speech

Recommended Posts

Just watched the entirety of trumps speech to the UN, very different and exactly what needed.

Classic quote on situation in Venezuela

"The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented. It's that socialism has been faithfully implemented."

Great speech. I often go to Scott Adams blog for his take on things Trump.

If you form your opinion of President Trump from the snippets provided by Sopel, Moore and Snow, you are not going to have a very high opinion of him.

As DOSBODDERS I expect you know that.

We mustn't leave out our lovely C4 News Kylie Morris.

She loves President Trump.

BBC news last night. So called George Alagiah introduced a segment on Trumps speech by saying 'Let's see what Mr Trump had to say'. I don't think I have ever heard a BBC newsreader call a Prime Minister or a President that. Mrs May, Mr Obama etc etc. Shocking lack of respect for the position.

Better than 'Trump' anyhow. I remember after Obama won they were gushing about a visit from someone called simply 'Michelle', like we should all immediately know who they meant. So transparent

I don't know whether the images on the video of his speech were unrepresentative but the UN members, representatives and leaders seemed to be disproportionately "of colour" - some would say to a shocking extent compared to the hype and propaganda we have to suffer on the subject of claimed colour bias.

There seemed to be very few members and leaders of white.

From the apparent body language they didn't in the main seem to be very friendly to Trump - apart from Israel.  That might just be aimed at Trump or it's possibly aimed at the US.  I didn't see any UK members but they might have been shown.

It all seemed to be very much the opposite of hideously white.

To be fair I don't think parts of Trump's speech was really referring to the US of the past few decades but rather the US that Trump wants the US to become.  For instance less interference in foreign affairs and so on.

Then yes the content of the speech was very good and sensible.  The UK must similarly start to stand up for itself especially within its own UK borders.

As for the So-Called BBC reports - does anyone believe a word it says these days.

Aye, great speech....

They all do that though - even since before Thatcher's time.  Indeed puppets on strings.

At the end of the day the UN is funded by a relatively small group of countries. Over a quarter of the funding comes from the US. The rest mainly comes from Japan, Germany, France, Britain, Russia,China etc. Approx 75% of the budget is paid for by 8 member states. The remaining 185 members pay just 25% of the costs. Hardly surprising that US Presidents feel they are entitled to use it to lecture everyone else.

Trump's reprogramming looks to be complete, and his pro-Saudi upgrade appears to have been installed correctly and is now running bug-free.

Yes! It's one of those few technical issues that money alone can cure!
