New taps.. how f***ing much !?

I’ve never had occasion to buy bath taps before..  but my son managed to break the “knob” off one this evening by hitting it repeatedly with a Spider-Man.  Quite an impressive feat..  though I think it must have been hanging on by a thread.

Who spends £240 on a pair of taps?!

Well..  it seems a lot of them are that much.  Bugger  
 

My question to anyone who knows anything about taps and plumbing..   am I being ripped off?  Can anyone suggest a better value set of brass taps?  (Ideally brass..  because all the other bathroom fittings are that colour).

Or even better.. does anyone know if they can be repaired?

i had a problem with a cartridge for a bristan tap. Couldn’t identify the actual tap as they seemed to have changed the innards. I phoned them and they dispatched a new part for free. So that might be worth a try.

I recall from years ago some of those chinky taps have shitty valves in em and they made a weird gurgling sound....

You want some good stuff from Germany ie Grohe used to make stuff there but offshored to chi-na and the quality went downhill rapidly

PS those taps are yuk! get modern......with no sink that dripples over the edge
