Was paying £44 to BT for 150mb down 30mb up FTTH including phone line. Just switched to a smaller provider - will be getting 1gb down 1gb up including phone line and mesh system for £32 fixed for next 18 months in 2 months times when my BT contract is up. Also the first 3 months are free so that saves another £96 on top of £108 annual saving for a total of £204 so very pleased with this deal.

we had 2400 baud modems at work called Gandalf, they were blue metal boxes with a toggle switch and a red light, the box had a picture of the Wizard on then and they were made in Britain.

Thank goodness for the obsoletion of dial-ip modems.

I think the Koreans have the fastest internet now.

Why bother having anything over 10-20mbps?

We can have videos streaming on tablets, phones and the telly all at the same time and it works. I think ours is meant to be 15-20mbps.

Yeah we cut ours from about 200 to 50. Works the same.

Seems pointless to be, even with a super quick computer I can't see the point. Wait 0.1 seconds instead of 0.107 seconds for a page to load, or download a film in 25 minutes instead of 45.

I suppose it depends how much you download......if you have fibre you can download 'bobby dazzler' movies in minutes....I'm talking like 4k stuff........and if you got kids or you're a gamer you can download that stuff in minutes too...

I was messing with steam on my new PC yesterday (I just want to see how good the graphics are on a Ryzen 5600G)....Counter Strike is FREE! BUT it's a 26gb download.....I can download that shit in a few minutes :P.....then try something else when I get bored

PS that game works and looks quite stunning BUT there's a problem.......it's TOO fast for me xD
