Torn pec

Anyone experience ? Was playing fives and dived to ground - great save apparently - but felt like I'd elbowed myself in chest.

Initially thought ribs as done them before - but later realised I couldn't have elbowed myself at that point.

So must have been the muscle ripping.

It's pretty much over my nipple type area. Symptoms similar to ribs - hard getting up - arms over head etc . but feels different.

Looked online and unless it's tendon to bone issues that night require surgery apparently just the usual rest and recovery.

Bit swollen but no bruising.

Anyone experience or advice ? And yes I know trying to be Peter Shilton at age 44 may not be the wisest plan.

Any point £50 on physio when I know what they are likely to say ?

If you have torn the muscle from the bone you will know about it.

And the bruising will be immense.

Thanks. What I thought. So just need to suck it up.

It's so weird. Sitting absolutely fine no pain but if I move a certain way it's like I'm being stabbed.

Ah well. First injury in almost three years so can't complain.

Some save like.

Yep. Remember the lad did it last year. If you had done the same you would know it.

Ah yes mind that now. Bench pressing ?

Apparently a fall with extended arm is another common cause. Never knew that before. Do now ffs.

He all back 100% surgery iirc ?

Yes. Playing well. But not lifting quite so much!

Younger one has now taken up MMA and had his first cage beating today so something new to worry about. At least he has the NHS to fall back on.

Apparently he didn't bleed as much as the other bloke that took on the big guy.

He has realised that sparring is nothing like the real thing.

Brutal sport. Boxing far more civilised but still hard as nails.

Apparently so. I think it is something you have to learn the hard way.

I'm the same age and I also am more conscious of my physical limitations these days. :(

Torn pec? Sounds like a Hollywood actor.
