Best place to advertise a motorbike for sale?

Any thoughts?

Currently I have my mine advertised on the model's specialist forum, with no bites after a couple of weeks (it's a slightly unusual bike).

I used to have success with Autotrader but, more recently, a couple of cars I have advertised on there haven't shifted.

I am not on Facebook.

Do I have to run the gamut of the eBay retards? At least it would sell if I use an auction and start off fairly low, but I tread to think what sort of mong might turn up.

I sold my Yamaha Fazer (so very run of the mill) on Autotrader in November, had a couple of e mails trying low prices, but after 2 weeks it sold at full asking price. Used the basic advert limited to 6 pictures I think.

I was going to recommend motorway.co.uk as a firned had an excellent result on their car recently but they don't deal with bikes at present.

However, per the help text they might; though the deal would be less good as you would have fewer bidders whereas all of the people deal in cars:

You can only sell cars, vans, campervans and some trucks on Motorway. Please enter your reg on our homepage to value your vehicle to start and we will confirm if we can sell it. Currently, none of our dealers are able to purchase motorbikes or scooters, but we hope to support these in the future.

Dealers seem to be offering strong money. I just got what seemed a ridiculously generous part-ex on a two year old Fireblade with 40k on the clock that could in no way be described as well looked after.

For all the potential buyer issues EBay always gets thing like vehicles sold for usually the best money unless very niche.

Blimey, 20k miles a year on a motorbike? Did you tour Europe or something?

I used to do nearly that, but not now. It used to be BMW riders that did gob-smacking galactic mileages.

Commuting? Still quite a long commute. I do 12k a year in my car, commuting and such.

At one time I was doing 250 miles a week, just commuting.
