Not the best song but certainly the most eclectic backing vocal group ever incuded Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick, Michael Jackson, Brenda Russell, Christopher Cross, Dyan Cannon, James Ingram, Kenny Loggins and Stevie Wonder.

And it was written by Jon and Vangelis.

Darlene Love. The real voice behind many of Phil Spector's hit records.

Check out the documentary film "20 Feet From Stardom" if you don't believe me.

Or any David Letterman show Christmas edition for the last 25 years or so...

Michael MacDonald of the Doobie Brothers were called on by Donald and Walter of Steely Dan to provide some sublime backing vocals.

Never forget the Coconuts. Brilliant!

Great band. Great brass section.

Listen to this.

Apart from the fact that it's a lovely song from one of the great films: I've never heard a backing singer so completely take over and make the song hers.

What a voice. I defy anyone to come up with a better example.
