I know someone who can't get another mortgage, is part way through selling their house and is asking their child and their child's partner to get a mortgage for them.
No idea how it'll work out for the kids - how far through the process will they get?  is there any checking done - will it be dead obvious that they won't be living there?

Tptb seem to be going all out to engineer a hpc.  Tightening up of lending criteria, going after overseas buyers, taxing bt like as it properly should be.  I wonder whether brexit has also been engineered so that there is a cunning excuse for when property is back to sensible levels

They've quite rightly tightened up on some people getting mortgages. Hence this situation.
