I blame the parents

Recommended Posts

In common with most normal people and, for a very refreshing change, some politicians I want any Briton who joined up with ISIS to be killed in Syria.

Then you have these prats who are claiming their son went there to do basket weaving or somesuch and are threatening to sue the government if they don't go and rescue the poor wee mite.

If I was the Kurdish militia holding him I would put a bullet through him soon before Corbyn or similar takes up this stupid cause.

Idiots, you can see the SJW glow.

And just look at who they have as their solicitor:

His parents’ solicitor, Tayab Ali, last night revealed that besides suing the British Government, he will this week also file a criminal complaint against Kurdish officials at the PYD’s European office in Berlin.

I can't see on what grounds they plan to sue the government (I.e. You and I as taxpayers)

'Letts insists that he did not fight for IS, and before his escape he publicly condemned them – for which, he says, he was detained in the terror group’s jails.'

In which case he'd have been executed by ISIS.

'The basis for the case against the Foreign Office is the claim in messages from Letts to his parents that his Kurdish interrogators had been supplied with questions by British officials, suggesting the UK knows where he is and who is holding him.'

All countries with a vibrant muslim population will have supplied a list of questions and forms to give to their brave nationals to fill, to find out who they are are.

Itll be stuff like name, DOB, school/education, parents name and detail of the area you are from.

Even if it were more than this, so what?  He went to join Isis. Thus he is an enemy of the state. Given this, the uk is within its rights to ask any questions and to treat him in any way they so wish.  As long as it is within the rules of the Geneva convention of how the enemy should be treated

The Syrian members of ISIS dobbed in all the foreign fighters to save their own necks when their strongholds in Iraq fell so clearly the latter were seen as completely expendable. ISIS best troops were always the Chechens and other Muslims from the Caucuses but apparently most of them had already jacked it in to fight as mercenaries elsewhere where the pay is better and your chance of living long enough to spend it higher.

Probably a lot to do with denial and political correctness. Suing someone means they can absolve themselves of any blame.

Twats.

Yup, being the son of some middle class gonk has probably kept him alive thus far.

If it were Dipshit Dwayne, son of a factory worker, he'd have been turned into cold-cuts by a reaper drone some time ago.

From the lawyers website

Sally Lane & John Letts

Representation of defendants accused of sending money to their son who was is Syria. The CPS accuse the parents of sending money to their son where there is reasonable belief that the money is may be used to fund terrorism. Currently at the Supreme Court pre-trial to determine a legal point in the case.

And there`s me thinking Brittish law held the English language in high regard

The FO is still telling them to FO.  Good.

Meanwhile, his father John Letts, an organic farmer and botanist, said he was angered by comments made by international development minister Rory Stewart who said the only way of dealing with British Islamic State fighters in Syria is to kill them in almost every case.

An FCO spokeswoman told the paper: 'We have consistently made clear over the last few years that people should not travel to Syria and parts of Iraq.

'As outlined in the FCO's travel advice, the government is unable to provide support to British nationals in Syria as the UK government does not have consular representation there.'
