Daily Mail

I have to admit I always love reading the comments beneath Daily Mail articles. It reminds me that the average "Brit" has his head screwed on and doesn't believe the guff from the So-Called BBC.

I've got a subscription to the DM. I never read it, but that £10 a month is supporting free speech.

Just to make an obvious point...

The government uses such things to test new ideas / policies -- put out something which will be reported in The Mail, then look at the responses to see how they'll have to alter public opinion to get the policy through.

Anecdotally I understand the posts are heavily censored with the most moderate stuff getting through.   I like the Guido comments too.

Cynical but probably spot on. Labour were into focus groups at one point which you don't here of now. There has to be a way for them to test the waters and this may well be it.

Huh? If that is true, then whoever is in charge should be sacked. The government of the day hasn't taken the Daily Mail's view on anything since about 1980.

More likely the government is using Twitter and the Guardian. That would explain a lot of things - foreign aid, bearded child refugees, open borders, teaching 8 year olds about women becoming men and having their labias folded inwards, and so on.

It has been some time coming but I think the DM crossed the line into porn today supposedly reporting the below story:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-5083701/Three-Nicki-Minaj-cover-Paper-magazine.html

This African / Latino obsession with women who have enormous bottoms, and such women making a living from sticking their bottoms into the camera lenses, is interesting but I do wonder whether we are simply de-evolving as a society. Well, perhaps some parts of Humanity never evolved as much as others - you can make a very argument for that ethnically and culturally but you would also be accused of being a white racist if you did so.

Other way around.

They're not taking the Mail's view.  They're looking at responses to see how they can manipulate the population to accept the government's view.

The Guardian's responses would indicate how successful they'd been in manipulating the population.

Obviously it isn't 100% effective, but that is what they'd use it for.

My dog is more erotic than that.

That's porn.  Though as you say the non-print side bar edition has been going that way for some time.

I won't repost it as people are going to have lunch soon but those Kim Kardashian in a bikni pictures were just foul; she is about as attractive as Anne Widdecombe but at least with Anne you could also have a tremendous conversation.

Quite. Not even a twitch in the trouser department here, in fact, I think there was a distinct retraction.

She, like Kardashian, are singularly gross in every respect.

I think someone on here made a very good observation about this sort of thing a while back. Everything is in the right place, sexy clothing and positioning etc. and I literally have the same feeling as I would looking at housebricks.

Everything in tbe right place, absolutely zero attraction (IMO).

Back OT, I can understand why a lot of people have respect for the Mail, I do too, slightly grudgingly though because I think it's reporting style and just general vibe isn't pleasant. I wouldn't pay for it myself.

All of that said, I absolutely would not wipe my arse with the Guardian. At least with the Mail they don't try to hide an agenda.

I thought it might be good to have a thread to pass on good advice.
My life tip is bleach. My car had a lot of algae and moss on it. I tried cleaning it and the algae never came off. I poured some neat bleach on and that algae just melted!
We also had a path that was permanently slippy with algae. I poured bleach over it and scrubbed it with a brush. Result! The path is no longer slippy!
